As efforts to bring back Indian citizens from war-torn Sudan continue, the Indian Air Force sharing an update on the evacuation said, the force alone has brought back around 1,400 Indian citizens ever since India began &lsquo;Operation Kaveri&rsquo; last week.
It said, two C-130 J aircraft evacuated 260 personnel including elders. While a few were above 90 years of age, one was above 102 years of age, it added.
India on Sunday brought back home another batch of 186 people. On Sunday, 229 Indians arrived in Bengaluru while 365 people reached Delhi the day before.

Under Operation Kaveri, 117 of 1,191 Indians rescued from strife-torn Sudan are currently being quarantined free of charge as they were not vaccinated against yellow fever, the Union health ministry said on Saturday.
The Ministry of Health is working in close collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs under Operation Kaveri. &nbsp;The Government of India is evacuating about 3,000 passengers of Indian origin from Sudan.
Necessary quarantine facilities are being arranged at transit junctures in mission mode for the incoming passengers, the ministry said.

A C-17 heavy-lift aircraft of the Indian Air Force on Friday brought back home 392 people as part of the government's mission to evacuate stranded Indians from strife-torn Sudan.
It is the third batch of Indians to be brought back home from Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah where India has set up a transit camp for the evacuees.
"Another C-17 flight carrying 392 passengers reaches New Delhi," External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted.
The first batch of 360 evacuees were brought to New Delhi in a commercial plane on Wednesday.
The second batch of 246 Indian evacuees arrived in Mumbai in a C17 Globemaster aircraft the next day.

Under Operation Kaveri, India has been taking its citizens in buses from conflict zones of Khartoum and other troubled areas to Port Sudan from where they are being taken to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah in Indian Air Force's heavy-lift transport aircraft and Indian Navy's ships.

Flight Lieutenant Har Raj Kaur Boparai, IAF's first and only woman pilot of the heavy-lift transport aircraft C-17 Globemaster, is taking part in Operation Kaveri, India's mission to bring back its citizens safely from the strife-torn Sudan.
The C-17 Globemaster is the largest aircraft asset of the Indian Air Force. The giant aircraft was flown from Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad to Jeddah and from Jeddah, it flew to Mumbai carrying the evacuees.
