The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief on Wednesday stoked a row by saying "India's partition wouldn't have happened had Jinnah been made the first Prime Minister of the country".
Reacting to Om Prakash Rajbhar&rsquo;s remark on Jinnah, UP cabinet minister and BJP leader Anil Rajbhar alleged that the SBSP chief made the statement at the instance of the Samajwadi Party.
&ldquo;These are the people who eat in this country, but sing the praises of another country. This statement has been (made) only in the greed of votes. This is an attempt to create unrest in the state by them,&rdquo; he said.
On October 31, Akhilesh Yadav, while addressing a public meeting in Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, had said that leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and Muhammad Ali Jinnah had played a role in India&rsquo;s freedom struggle. The remark saw BJP leaders, including chief minister Yogi Adityanath, targeting Akhilesh Yadav and seeking an apology from the SP chief.

2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections: AIMIM to contest 100 seats

AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday announced that his party will contest 100 seats in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Owaisi also said his party would contest the polls in alliance with Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party patron Om Prakash Rajbhar&nbsp;who has formed an alliance&nbsp;called&nbsp;'Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha'.

Besides AIMIM and SBSP, the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha includes eight other parties, such as Krishna Patel's Apna Dal, Jan Adhikar Party and Chandrashekar Ravan's Azad Samaj Party.
In last year's Bihar Assembly elections, the AIMIM contested 20 seats and won five -- all in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region which shares border with West Bengal.
However, the party drew a blank in the recent assembly elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
