The Income Tax Department on Saturday issued a number of guidelines on the revision of dates for filing returns under different categories. The date for filing of individual income tax returns for FY 2019-20 has been extended for another month till December 31. The finance ministry said in the statement that for the&nbsp;taxpayers whose accounts need to be audited, the ITR&nbsp;deadline has been extended by two months till January 31, next year. Centre had&nbsp;in May extended the date for filing ITR for FY2019-20 from July 31 to November 30, in a major relief to taxpayers.

Indian Railways will now allow booking and cancellation of tickets till five minutes before the train leaves the station, the Hindustan Times has reported. The new rule, which will apply to all special trains being run, comes into effect from Saturday. The pre-Covid system of preparing the second reservation chart 30 minutes before the departure of the train, has been restored by the railways. Indian Railways plans to run more than 200 trains during the festive season between October 15 and November 30.

In a good news for the passengers planning to travel during the festive seasons, Railway Board Chairman and CEO VK&nbsp;Yadav on Thursday said that the national transporter is planning to introduce 200 special trains between October 15 and November 30 to cater to passenger rush. The CEO also said that the railways has decided that it will take stock of passenger services on a daily basis depending on the needs of the state governments and the status of the pandemic.&nbsp;The railways had suspended all regular passenger, mail and express trains indefinitely on March 25 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.&nbsp;
