The temperatures in June, July and August were&nbsp;1.17C above the 20th-century average, surpassing the summer of 2016 and 2019.
According to the administration, 2020 is among the 5 warmest years on record.
Experts believe that the impacts of human-induced climate change are particularly dangerous during the summer months in the Northern hemisphere.&nbsp;
In the 141-year record, the&nbsp;Southern Hemisphere's winter, which occurs at the same time, was the third-warmest this year.&nbsp;
