<p>Actor Nitesh Pandey died of a heart attack in Igatpuri in Mumbai. The actor was just 51 years old. The news has sent shockwaves as it has come at a time when there is a sudden surge in heart attacks among people in their 40s and 50s.&nbsp;</p>
<p>But, the question is, why have the cases of heart attacks been increasing in the recent past?&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to a 2019 report by Harvard Health, 80% of heart attacks take place due to blockages in coronary arteries. Other than this, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) said that the high rates of obesity and high blood pressure are the reasons why the incidence of heart disease in people as young as 35-40 years is so common these days. Moreover, unhealthy lifestyle choices are also accountable for the majority of heart disease cases.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Popular TV star Nitesh Pandey, who died of a cardiac arrest, was a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan and wanted to share screen space with the legend.</p>
<p>Pandey, who shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in 'Om Shanti Om', was found dead in a hotel in Maharashtra's Igatpuri.</p>
<p>Pandey, who worked in the entertainment industry for almost 25 years, in a 2020 interview, had shared his wish to share the screen space with Big B as he felt that the veteran could teach a lot of things, including how to stay young and energetic.</p>
<p>After working in films like &lsquo;Om Shanti Om&rsquo;, &lsquo;Khosla Ka Ghosla&rsquo;, and &lsquo;Madaari&rsquo;, Pandey had also opened up on his experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan, Anupam Kher and Irrfan Khan and said that their life struggles inspire him to give his best each day.</p>

<p>His brother-in-law, producer Siddharth Nigam has confirmed the news.</p>

<p>Actor Nitesh Pandey, who was known for playing the role of Shah Rukh Khan&rsquo;s assistant in &lsquo;Om Shaanti Om&rsquo;, has passed away at the age of 51 due to a cardiac arrest. He was in Igatpuri in Mumbai at the time of his death. His brother-in-law, producer Siddharth Nigam has confirmed the news.</p>
<p>Speaking with ETimes, he said the family has gone absolutely numb. He added that he was returning from Delhi when he heard the news. Siddharth said Nitesh was much younger than him and was a very lively person.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Nitesh Pandey began his career as a theatre artist in 1990. He got his first acting break in a show called &lsquo;Tejas&rsquo; in 1995 in which he played a detective. He then went on to star in shows such as &lsquo;Manzilein Apani Apani&rsquo;, &lsquo;Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani&rsquo;, &lsquo;Saaya&rsquo;, &lsquo;Durgesh Nandini&rsquo;, and &lsquo;Anupamaa&rsquo;. His works in films include &lsquo;Om Shanti Om&rsquo; and &lsquo;Khosla Ka Ghosla&rsquo;.</p>
<p>Neeraj Pandey owns a production house called Dream Castle Productions, which produces Radio shows.</p>
<p>Nitesh was married to actor Arpita Pandey whom he met on a TV show, &lsquo;Justajoo&rsquo;. He was also previously married to actor Ashwini Kalsekar.</p>
