On cam: Union Minister Nisith Pramanik's convoy attacked Cooch Behar, says 'police mere spectator'

Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik's convoy faced a hail of stones after it was attacked allegedly by a TMC-backed mob in West Bengal's Cooch Behar on Saturday.&nbsp;
The mob attacked Pramanik's SUV with sticks and hurled stones damaging its windshield and making the minister run for his life. Pramanik is a MP from the area.
Footage shared by ANI shows Pramanik surrounded by supporters while a mob with sticks tries to break the barrier created by security personnel.&nbsp;
Speaking with the news agency, the minister slammed the ruling TMC and said "Democracy in the state has collapsed. If a minister is not safe in the state then just think of the common man's plight."

The police at the spot had to fire tear gas to disperse the angry crowd.&nbsp;
