Amid the intriguing sequence of events amid the festering political crisis in the state, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed media persons on Friday, saying that the Opposition was misleading the people.
Digging in his heels amid claims by the Congress and the JJP that his government was in a minority after three Independent MLAs in their support switched sides, CM Saini called on the Opposition to come clean on the number of legislators who are with them and state the same in writing to the Governor.
Earlier, on Thursday, the JJP chief and former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala wrote to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, urging his intervention to end the political stalemate in the state. He called on the Governor to seek a floor test at the earliest and impose Presidents' Rule in the state if the government failed to prove its majority in the Assembly.
Playing down the Opposition claims that the BJP was presiding over a minority government, CM Saini said, "They (Opposition) have nothing to do with the people and only want to mislead them. They should give in writing to the Governor as to how many MLAs they have in their support and not mislead the people. We won the trust vote recently and will win it again if asked to prove majority in the House. They are merely trying to distract public attention from other issues. Corruption and scams were rampant under the previous Congress rule in the state."

Haryana chief minister Nayab Saini on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi over his pan India march.&nbsp;

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Wednesday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying he should have first seen the deeds of his ancestors before taking out the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
He asserted it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who worked to unite India in the last 10 years. He has brought people closer, Saini said.
Addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Alwar in support of the BJP candidate Bhupendra Yadav, Saini targeted Gandhi, saying, "First he took out Bharat Jodo Yatra and now he is talking about justice. It is being said in the Congress manifesto that they will give justice to the people of the country. Before taking out Bharat Jodo Yatra, he should have first seen the deeds of his ancestors." Saini claimed that during the 55-year rule of the Congress, one had to stand in line for three days to get an LPG cylinder. "Modi not only ended the line but also gave gas cylinders to mothers and sisters. Modi has worked to secure the country's borders," he said. "If the work of uniting India has been done, then it is Narendra Modi who has done it in the last 10 years. He has brought people closer," the Haryana chief minister said.
He said it is the BJP that makes a small worker the head of the party and also gives important responsibilities like that of a chief minister.
BJP MLA and former Alwar MP Baba Balaknath and other leaders also addressed the rally.&nbsp;

OBC leader Nayab Singh Saini took oath as Haryana&rsquo;s new chief minister, hours after the resignation of Manohar Lal Khattar from the post along with his cabinet ministers.
This comes after the BJP on Tuesday named Saini as the new CM.&nbsp;
The surprise development in Chandigarh comes just weeks ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Khattar&rsquo;s second term as chief minister was also to end in October, when the assembly polls are due.
Khattar, a BJP strongman and all 13 other members of the BJP-led council of ministers submitted their resignations to the Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya &ndash; apparently at the directions of the BJP&rsquo;s central leadership.
Saini, who is the MP from Kurukshetra, was appointed the president of the BJP&rsquo;s Haryana unit only in October.

BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini took oath as chief minister of Haryana on12th March.
He replaced veteran leader Manohar Lal Khattar as the CM of the state.
Along with Saini, BJP leaders Kanwar Pal Gurjar, Mool Chand Sharma, Jai Parkash Dalal and Banwari Lal and Independent MLA Ranjit Singh Chautala took oath as ministers in the new government.
The political shuffle in the state comes ahead of the Lok Sabha elections as the saffron party broke ties with JJP.

Apart from being the president of BJP's Haryana unit, he is also an MP from Kurukshetra.
