The Afghanistan Cricket Board has opted not to grant Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen Ul Haq NOCs for the next two years, which means that the three might not play in the IPL.

Not only that but the Board opted not to grant them 'No Objection Certificates' (NOCs) for the next two years following their intention to be released from their annual central contracts.
The news means that the three players might not play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mujeeb was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 Auction, while Fazalhaq and Naveen are expected to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants respectively.
'The insistence on not signing the central contract for these players was their involvement in commercial leagues, prioritizing their personal interests over playing for Afghanistan, which is regarded as a national responsibility. By opting for their release, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to take disciplinary measures against these players,' read an official statement from ACB.
'The three players formally communicated their decision to the ACB, expressing their desire to release themselves from the annual central contract, starting from 1st January 2024, as well as requested to consider their consent for their participation in the national events,' the statement added.
The committee presented the following recommendations to the ACB's top management:
<ol>
<li>Not Awarding Central Contracts: Starting from January 1, 2024, the three players shall not be eligible for the central contract for one year. In this case, ACB will consider and decide their participation in events when needed.</li>
<li>Delay Granting No Objection Certificates (NOCs): Consideration of these players as non-eligible to obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for two years. All current NOCs shall be revoked immediately.</li>
<li>Transparently communicate ACB's stance to the cricketing community, including the ICC, the ACC, Member Countries/Cricket Boards, and the Afghanistan Public.</li>
</ol>

Naveen-ul-Haq, the fast bowler from Afghanistan, faced a significant setback as he was imposed a 20-month suspension from the International League T20. This decision came as a consequence of his failure to adhere to the terms of his Player Agreement with the Sharjah Warriors.
Initially, Naveen had committed to the Warriors for the inaugural season of the league. He was presented with the opportunity to extend his contract for another year but refused to sign the retention notice for the second season.
The Sharjah Warriors, in response to this contractual issue, sought intervention from the ILT20. The league then embarked on a mediation effort, employing an independent third-party mediator, but this attempt did not yield a resolution.
The disciplinary matter was subsequently escalated to the ILT20's three-person Disciplinary Committee, which includes league CEO David White, Head of Security and Anti-Corruption Col. Azam, and Zayed Abbas from the Emirates Cricket Board. After a thorough review of the evidence and hearing both sides, the committee reached its conclusion to impose a 20-month ban on Naveen.
David White, the CEO of DP World ILT20, remarked in a statement, "We do not take pride in making this announcement but all parties are expected to comply with their contractual commitments and recognize that non-compliance can cause damage to the other party."
White further explained the gravity of the situation, stating, "Unfortunately, Naveen-ul-Haq failed to honor his contractual obligations with the Sharjah Warriors and as such the league had no option but to impose this 20-month ban on him."
He also emphasized that the disciplinary process against Naveen was executed with full transparency, ensuring that both parties involved had ample opportunity to prepare and present their arguments.
