A new study suggests that people turned to music to cope with psychological and emotional challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A study published in Psychology of Music suggested that people adjusted their music listening habits as a way of coping with the COVID-19 crisis. The study specifically focused on people&rsquo;s impressions of how their music listening habits changed (or did not change) during the lockdown period when compared to regular times.

For the study, the researchers surveyed 5,000 participants from six countries, during the first COVID lockdown from April to May 2020. People from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, India and the United States answered questions online about their exposure to music during the coronavirus pandemic.
As per the findings, more than half of the respondents listened to music to cope with emotional and social stress. Researchers also found that people who had an increase in positive emotions were either listening or making music to cope with their feelings during the pandemic.

Researchers used two tests to investigate how listening to music affected the performance of fitness enthusiasts. The team also assisted participants in choosing motivational songs with a pre-test questionnaire asking them to rate the rhythm, style, melody, tempo, sound and beat of the music. As per researchers, positive effects of music can be the result of a changed perception of effort when listening to tunes.
The findings indicated that, listening to self-chosen motivational music can be a useful strategy to help active people improve their endurance and performance when they are mentally tired.

The driver units have been redesigned and use improved 24-bit amps, and proprietary polyurethane foam tips provide better passive noise isolation. The WF-1000XM4s also come with a "Speak-to-Chat" feature, offer better battery life, and also support Qi wireless charging. The Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds have been priced at $280 in the US, but Indian pricing and availability is yet to be announced.

Crafted to look like a hardcover book, the Emerge features a triple driver array, with each driver getting its own dedicated amplifier. There's a mic for voice assistant support, Bluetooth 5.0 and 100Mbit Ethernet as well. The Emerge also gets support for Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Spotify Connect. The Beosound Emerge has been priced starting at $699 for the Black Anthracite model with polymer panels.
