Mukesh Khanna has quashed reports of Ranveer Singh taking his legacy forward in the film adaptation of 'Shaktimaan'. The actor shared a YouTube video where he slammed reports that suggested Singh has been roped in to play the role of India's first superhero, originally played by Khanna, in the larger-than-life motion picture adaptation.&nbsp;

Khanna took to his Instagram handle and shared a collage picture of himself and Ranveer Singh. The actor captioned his post, &ldquo;Pura social media mahinon se is rumour se bhara pada tha ki Ranveer karega Shaktimaan. Aur har koi naaraz tha ise lekar. Main chup raha. Lekin jub channels ne bhi elaan karna shuru kar diya ki Ranveer sign ho gaya hai. To mujhe muhn kholana pada. Aur maine bol diya ki aisi image wala vyakti kitna bhi bada star kyon na ho Shaktimaan nahin ban sakta. I have put my foot down. Ab Aaga aage dekhiye hota hai kya?? There are rumours on social media that Ranveer Singh will portray Shaktimaan. And everyone was angry about it. I remained silent. But when channels started announcing that Ranveer had been signed, then I had to speak up. And I have said that no matter how big a star he is, a person with such an image can never become Shaktimaan. I have put my foot down. Now let's see what happens next."

Adding on to this, the veteran actor also released a video on his YouTube channel in which he condemned Ranveer for his nude photoshoot for Paper magazine. Taking potshots at Ranveer, he said, &ldquo;If he feels comfortable with nudity, then he should go to countries where he can do nude scenes in every third scene.&rdquo;&nbsp;
The veteran actor also added, &ldquo;I have told the producers that your competition is not with Spider-Man, Batman, or Captain Planet. Shaktimaan is not just a superhero; he has also become a super teacher. Now, the actor who takes on the role should have the quality that, when he speaks, people will listen. There are big actors, but their image comes in the middle.&rdquo;
In 2022, Mukesh Khanna announced that his popular show from 1997, 'Shaktimaan', would be made into a film. Later on, Sony Pictures India also announced that it would back this adaptation of the popular superhero show.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has been making headlines since the release of its teaser. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Shah Rukh on the big screen in a full fledged role. Film's first song 'Besharam Rang' was released earlier this week and has been embroiled in controversy since then. Now, Mukesh Khanna has joined the group of people criticising the song.
Speaking with ABP news, he questioned how could The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) pass the song despite alleged 'vulgarity' in the song. 'I think our film industry has gone haywire. This is a matter of vulgarity, it has nothing to do with any kind of religious problem. The censor board is no Supreme Court. They tell me very prominent people but can they not see all these attacks on the Hindu religion', he said.
He later added that the censor must not pass such films. This song could mess up the minds of the youth, not only mislead them. This is a song made for the big screen, not for the OTT.
The song has been the target of trolls and some politicians due to the use of saffron colour for Deepika's attire. Earlier, BJP minister Narottam Mishra had said that the song reflected a 'dirty mindset', and threatened that the film may be banned in Madhya Pradesh.
The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles. The film is slated to release on January 23.

The teaser of Prabhas’ ‘Adipurush’ has been making headlines over the last few days and it’s not for the right reasons. Many have expressed their disappointment over the film’s CGI, VFX and costumes. Actor Mukesh Khanna has also reacted to the recently released teaser and said that the looks of Hindu Gods in the forthcoming film are not true to what people believe. 
He said Hindu Gods are not handsome like Arnold Schwarzenegger, they are beautiful. 
‘Look at Ram or Krishna for example. They are not bodybuilders, they have a soft, docile, and grand look on their faces. No one can claim they met Ram or Krishna, but from whatever we have seen over the years, they have a feminine look. People who worship them never think of Ram or Hanuman with moustaches,’ he said.
He added that the film will not work as the makers want to use the faith audience has in Ramayan, but also wants to challenge it. 
‘You call the film Adipurush, you may tell me that it is the story of a man from the stone Age. Why do you have the title of Ramayan then? We had a huge beard for Bheeshma Pitamah (Mukesh Khanna's role in Mahabharat), you cannot simply show him as a clean-shaven man. Let me tell you that such a film will not work, because you want to use the faith that the audience has in Ramayan but you also challenge the faith,’ he said.
Mukesh further claimed that a huge investment and major VFX cannot make a good film. He said makers cannot use looks from ‘Avatar’ and say they are making ‘Ramayan’. He also warned rich people to not use money to change rituals, religion or epics.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel called 'Bheeshm International', he said that a girl belonging to a 'civilised society' would never initiate sexual conversation. 
'If a girl asks a boy to have sex, she is not a girl, she is a sex worker. Because a decent girl belonging to a civilised society would never say such things,' the actor said. 
After facing backlash, Mukesh told news agency PTI that he was not making comments on general man-woman relationship and his purpose was to make the 'youth aware about sex racket'. He further stated that people should see the entire video first. 
In the video titled 'Kya Aapko Bhi Aisi Ladkiya Lubhati Hain?', he was talking about internet sex rackets where men are blackmailed.
'I also get messages from girls, where they say they want to chat with me and they ask for nude photos. We don't know whether it is actually a woman or a man. I also get messages, I do not reply to them. Some people who I know too have received messages from girls, who have their own channels,' he said.
The two-day-old clip went viral on internet on Wednesday morning.
