RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat cast his vote in Nagpur Municipal Corporation polls and urged citizens to vote responsibly, warning that using NOTA indirectly promotes unwanted candidates.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat cast his vote in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) polls on Thursday and remarked that choosing the NOTA option indirectly helps promote an unwanted candidate.&nbsp;
Bhagwat was among the early voters in the Nagpur civic body polls. He went to a polling booth in the Mahal area of the city around 7.30 am and exercised his franchise.&nbsp;
Later, speaking to reporters, Bhagwat said elections are a mandatory part of democracy and hence, voting is the responsibility of all citizens. He appealed to electors that keeping the public interest in mind, everyone should vote for a suitable candidate during the elections.
"Hence, today the first thing I did was to vote," the RSS chief said.&nbsp;

On the None of the Above option available to voters in elections, he said, "NOTA means you reject everyone, and by doing so, we promote a person who is not wanted."&nbsp;
He said NOTA is an option given to people to express their displeasure, but it is better to vote for someone than not have anyone.&nbsp;

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday said affordable education and healthcare are the needs of every individual, and must be decentralised.
Speaking at the inauguration of Pandit Dindayal Cancer Hospital in Maharashtra's Chandrapur, Bhagwat said cancer has a devastating impact on not just patients but also their families and urged the participation of society to serve them.
"We will not require money but time to serve the needy," he said.
Affordable education and healthcare are the needs of every individual. They have to be decentralised, Bhagwat said.He said ailments such as cancer can be caused by anything &mdash; stress, pollution, adulterated food.
"Causes of cancer are not specific. God has given us a body, and we should use it to serve mankind. We need to take time out and not just money. Cancer patients and families require emotional strength and support. We have to ensure facilities like this cancer hospital function effectively," he said.&nbsp;

Reiterating the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh&rsquo;s long-held position, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday asserted that India is a &ldquo;Hindu nation&rdquo; and said this reality does not require constitutional validation, describing it as an unquestionable truth.
Speaking at an event commemorating 100 years of the RSS, Bhagwat said India has been, and will continue to be, a Hindu nation as long as Indian culture is respected and upheld in the country.
&ldquo;The Sun rises in the east; we don't know since when this has been happening. So, do we need constitutional approval for that too? Hindustan is a Hindu nation. Whoever considers India their motherland appreciates Indian culture, as long as there is even one person alive on the land of Hindustan who believes in and cherishes the glory of Indian ancestors, India is a Hindu nation. This is the ideology of the Sangh,&rdquo; he said while addressing the &lsquo;100 Vyakhyan Mala&rsquo; programme of the RSS in Kolkata.
Bhagwat further remarked that the inclusion or exclusion of the term in the Constitution was immaterial to the organisation&rsquo;s belief system. &ldquo;If Parliament ever decides to amend the Constitution and add that word, whether they do it or not, it's fine. We don't care about that word because we are Hindus, and our nation is a Hindu nation. That is the truth. The caste system based on birth is not the hallmark of Hindutva,&rdquo; he added.
The RSS has consistently maintained that India is a Hindu nation based on its civilisational roots and the religious affiliations of the majority population. The word &lsquo;secular&rsquo; was not part of the original Preamble of the Constitution and was inserted along with &lsquo;socialist&rsquo; through the Constitution (42nd Amendment) Act, 1976, during the Emergency imposed by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Bhagwat also called upon people to visit RSS offices and attend its &lsquo;shakhas&rsquo; to better understand the organisation&rsquo;s functioning and dispel what he described as false notions of it being &ldquo;anti-Muslim&rdquo;.
According to him, public perception about the RSS has evolved, with many recognising it as an organisation committed to protecting Hindu interests and promoting nationalism, but not hostility towards Muslims.
&ldquo;If there is a perception that we are anti-Muslim, then, as I said, the RSS work is transparent. You can come anytime and see for yourself, and if you see anything like that happening, then you keep your views, and if you don't see then you change your views. There is a lot to understand (about RSS), but if you don't want to understand then no one can change your mind,&rdquo; Bhagwat said.
He added that individuals unwilling to engage or learn could not be persuaded otherwise.
&ldquo;After seeing, people have said that you are staunch nationalists. You organise Hindus, and you advocate for the protection of Hindus. But you are not anti-Muslim. Many people have accepted this, and those who want to know more should come and see the RSS for themselves,&rdquo; he said.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said the positions taken by various countries after the Pahalgam terror attack showed the nature and extent of their friendship with India.
He was speaking at the RSS&rsquo;s annual Vijayadashmi rally, which also marked the centenary of the organisation. The RSS was founded on Dussehra (September 27) in 1925 in Nagpur by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, a physician from Maharashtra.
&ldquo;Even though we maintain friendly relations with other countries, and we will continue to do so, when it comes to our security, we need to be more careful, more watchful and stronger. After the Pahalgam attack, the positions taken by various countries also revealed which of them are our friends, and to what extent,&rdquo; Bhagwat said.
He said terrorists crossed the border and killed 26 Indians after checking their religion in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, which drew a fitting response from the country, referring to Operation Sindoor.
&ldquo;This caused immense pain and anger in the country. Our government made complete preparations and gave a firm rebuttal. In the aftermath, the leadership&rsquo;s resolve, the valour of our armed forces and the unity of society were evident,&rdquo; he said.
He said extremist elements had faced action from the government, while society too distanced itself after recognising their &ldquo;hollowness&rdquo;. &ldquo;They will be controlled. A major hurdle has now been removed in that area,&rdquo; the RSS chief said.
He also said that the lack of schemes ensuring justice, development, goodwill, sensitivity and strength often leads to the rise of extremist forces.
&ldquo;People who are annoyed by the system&rsquo;s lethargy tend to seek support from such extremist elements. To prevent this, the state and society must work together through initiatives that give people faith in the system,&rdquo; Bhagwat said.
Former president Ram Nath Kovind was present as the chief guest at the event.&nbsp;

"The party which did the bhakti (of lord Ram) but became arrogant was stopped at 241 but it was made the biggest party," he had said, in an apparent reference to Narendra Modi-led BJP which got 240 seats in the Lok Sabha seats.
"And those who had no faith in Ram, they together were stopped at 234," Kumar said.
The remark came days after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that a true 'sevak' does not have arrogance and serves the people by maintaining 'dignity'.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday said that discrimination exists in our society, and reservations should continue as long as inequality persists.
Speaking at an event here, he also said the `Akhand Bharat' or undivided India will become a reality before today's youngsters become old, as those who separated from India in 1947 are now feeling that they made a mistake.
Incidentally, Bhagwat's statement on reservations came at a time when the Maratha community's agitation for a quota has once again intensified.
"We kept our own fellow human beings behind in the social system. We did not care for them, and it continued for 2000 years. Until we provide them equality, some special remedies have to be there, and reservations is one of them. Hence, reservations have to continue till there is such discrimination. We at the RSS give all support to the reservations provided in the Constitution," he said.
Discrimination exists in society even though we may not see it, he noted.
Reservations are about "giving respect" and not just about ensuring financial or political equality, the RSS chief further said.
If the sections of society which faced discrimination suffered for 2000 years, "why cannot we (those who did not face discrimination) accept some trouble for 200 more years," he added.

The RSS chief said that when every work is being done for society, then jobs cannot be considered small or big or different from each other. He reportedly said that everyone is equal in the eyes of god and no caste or sect exists before him. All these things were created by priests, which is wrong, Bhagwat said.
Giving an example, he said a man engaged in washing cups and utensils set up a paan stall with a small corpus of funds. "The paan shop owner went on to generate a wealth of around Rs 28 lakh...But despite that (such examples), our youth keep applying (for jobs) without getting any reply (from the employer)," Bhagwat said.

There is no shortage of skill sets in the country, he said, adding, "But we are not going to be like other countries after gaining prominence in the world." "Before the Islamic invasion in the country, other invaders did not disturb our lifestyle, our traditions and our schools of thought. But they (Muslim invaders) had a logical argument - first they defeated us using their might and then suppressed us psychologically," he said.
"Due to selfishness, we paved the way for invaders to attack us. Selfishness prevailed in our society and we stopped giving importance to other people and their work," Bhagwat said.

You know who is maintaining more spacing between two children? Muslims are maintaining. Who is using condoms the most? This is to inform you that we are using. Mohan Bhagwat will not talk about it,” Owaisi said.

On Gujarat police reportedly flogging some Muslims in public view for their alleged involvement in stone pelting at a Navratri Garba venue , Owaisi said they were beaten while the spectators were enjoying it.
“They are being beaten on roads with lathis. Is it Indian democracy? Is it Indian secularism? Is it rule of law? There is respect for a roadside dog. But a Muslim is not respected,” Owaisi said.
He said the accused should have been dealt with as per law.

Heaping praises on the ruling party’s move to invite chief of Bharatiya Janata Party’s ideological fountainhead, State Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said, “The BJP does politics of hate over religion. But the Congress government in Chhattisgarh has shown them the politics of connecting with people”, the Indian Express quoted. 
Hitting back at the Congress for “politicising religion”, with BJP leader Dharamlal Kaushik saying that the Congress is making a big deal out of someone’s personal visit. He also underlined the need for establishing a Sindhi university in the country to ensure survival of the Sindhi language and culture. The RSS chief said India is a multi-lingual country and each language has its own importance.
Bhagwat was speaking as the chief guest at the 'Gaddinashini' programme (ceremony to assume religious seat) of Sai Rajeshlal Mordiya, the great grandson of Sant Kanwarram, at Kanwarram Dham on Bhankheda Road near here in eastern Maharashtra.
Hundreds of Sindhi community memberrs from Amravati district and different parts of the country attended the ceremony.
The RSS chief asserted no one benefits from violence and called for bringing together all communities and preserving humanity.
"Violence does not benefit anybody. The society to which violence is dear is now counting its last days. We should forever be non-violent and peace-loving. For this, it is essential to bring together all communities and preserve humanity. We all need to do this work on a priority," said Bhagwat.
The RSS leader's remarks came in the backdrop of communal clashes during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti celebrations in nearly half a dozen states, including the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
Observing that the Sindhi community has contributed richly in development of the country, Bhagwat stressed the need of having a Sindhi university to promote and preserve the Sindhi culture and language.
"While some Sindhi brethren stayed back in Pakistan to protect their religion and land there, many came to India to protect their religion at the cost of land," the RSS leader said.
He said the Sindhi community has to put pressure on the central government to get its demand for a university fulfilled.
"The society is desirous of having a Sindhi university and an undivided India. These feelings were expressed on this dais also. I was appealed to make efforts for a Sindhi university, but I am not a part of the government.
"Be it this government or any other, it acts on pressure of the society. Social pressure is like petrol to the government. If you desire to see your dream of a Sindhi university becoming a reality, you need to put pressure on this government," Bhagwat said.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagatguru Shankaracharya Wasudevanand Saraswati Maharaj said, "Undivided India is the dream of all in the country and this dream will certainly be realized during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
