Now, R Madhavan has reviewed the film and called it 'wonderful'. He further urged everyone to watch it in theaters. On Friday, the actor-filmmaker took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts after watching the movie that stars Akshay as Jaswant Singh Gill. Madhavan called it an amazing film that audiences should watch in a theatre. 'Yesterday, I went to watch this film in the theater. What an amazing film it is! There are so many unsung heroes in our country about whom we know the bare minimum. What are we doing brothers? This opportunity will not come back again. Go and watch this film in theatres soon. Don't tell later that I had not told you,' Madhavan tweeted, adding the trailer of the film, and tagging Akshay Kumar and Jackky Bhagnani. Soon, Akshay responded to the appreciation from Madhavan on X. The 'Khiladi' actor wrote, 'Thank you so much Maddy for showering so much praise and love on the film.' Akshay portrays the role of Jaswant Singh Gill in this true story, which revolves around how the mining engineer from IIT Dhanbad rescued 65 trapped miners at the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989. It also stars Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The film has collected over ₹18 crore in India so far. The makers of Akshay Kumar starrer &lsquo;Mission Raniganj&rsquo; have independently submitted the film to the Academy. The film will not be eligible for the Best Foreign Film award.

The makers of Akshay Kumar starrer &lsquo;Mission Raniganj&rsquo; have taken the 'RRR route' to the Oscars. The film may not have fetched numbers at the box office but it has won the hearts of the audience and critics as well.
Now, the makers of the film have decided to independently submit the film to the Academy.
While the film will not be eligible for the Best Foreign Film award, it will be eligible to compete in every other major category.
Any country can send non-English films to the Oscars in two ways. Either as the country&rsquo;s official entry selected by a body assigned by the Academy or as an independent entry, which requires fulfilling certain theatrical release conditions in the US.
In India, the Film Federation of India decides which movie will be sent to the Oscars. This year&rsquo;s India&rsquo;s official entry for the Oscars is the Malayalam film &lsquo;2018&rsquo;.
Last year, the Gujarati film &lsquo;Chhello Show&rsquo; was sent as India&rsquo;s official entry by the FFI, while SS Rajamouli&rsquo;s Telugu blockbuster &lsquo;RRR&rsquo; entered the race as an independent entry.
&lsquo;RRR&rsquo;s popular track &lsquo;Naatu Naatu&rsquo; won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards.
The 96th Academy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on March 10, 2024. The nominations will be announced on January 23.
&lsquo;Mission Raniganj&rsquo; is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.
The film is a true story of a rescue from a coal mine that took place in the 80s when mining officer Jaswant Singh Gill utilised his experitse and bravery to safely evacuate 62 miners from a flooded coal mine in West Bengal.
The film was released in theatres on October 6, 2023.

The trailer for Akshay Kumar&rsquo;s forthcoming film &lsquo;Mission Raniganj&rsquo; has been released. The film will narrate the story of one man's quest to save the lives of helpless miners stuck in a coal mine.
The trailer shows how a mine collapses on a big group of miners working underground. They are seen screaming, pleading for their lives, while other side, above the ground in Akshay Kumar, is ready to launch a rescue mission. He plays a Sikh engineer, who will do anything to save the men's lives.
Parineeti Chopra stars as Akshay's wife in the film.
&lsquo;Mission Raniganj&rsquo; is based on the true-life event of late Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission.
&lsquo;Mission Raniganj&rsquo; is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Ajay Kapoor. The film is all set to hit the theatres on October 6.
Recently, the film&rsquo;s first track, titled &lsquo;Jalsa 2.0&rsquo;, was released, which received a good response from the fans.
