The third season of much-talked about web series &lsquo;Mirzapur&rsquo; focuses on female characters &ndash; Golu, Beena, Madhuri and Shabnam.
Sherrnavaz Sam Jijina, who plays Shabnam on the show, stood out with her transformation into a strong, empowered woman taking charge of her father&rsquo;s opium business.
Anticipation for the next season is high, with Sherrnavaz hinting at its arrival, stating, 'It will happen super soon. Now everyone knows that there will be season four. The writing is on. They&rsquo;re working on it. I&rsquo;m sure that they&rsquo;ll again come up with something that has a lot of shock value.'
The third season ended on a cliffhanger, and Sherrnavaz revealed the writers are meticulously crafting a world that lives up to its legacy. 'We need to gauge and come up with more things that can shock people. I don&rsquo;t know how they&rsquo;re managing to do that season after season. Shock value is the USP of the series. I hope people keep watching and giving it love,' she adds.
Responding to criticism about the reduced 'bhaukaal' in the latest season, she explained, 'This season is a little different compared to the others. It&rsquo;s more in the House Of Cards zone. There&rsquo;s a strong political angle which was necessary for the show because you can&rsquo;t have extreme violence all the time. This season is very smartly made. But thanda nahi padha hai. You&rsquo;ve to scratch your brains.' she defended. 'It may come across as a little slow because it&rsquo;s not as graphic. And since it&rsquo;s still Mirzapur, there&rsquo;s gaali galoch and comedy interwoven into shayaris. It&rsquo;s still about the gaddi and how to get to it. I would like to compare this season to a game of chess with more players involved. The thing is people are watching it with expecting it to be like the first season,' she explained.

Reflecting on the show&rsquo;s initial reception for its intense violence, Sherrnavaz shared her perspective, 'We&rsquo;re in a creative space, so it&rsquo;s very subjective. It&rsquo;s the requirement of the show.' She admitted that despite being part of the series, scenes of violence still affect her, highlighting the cast and crew's dedication to meeting audience expectations.
Sherrnavaz expressed her deep connection and added, 'Mirzapur is my show and these people are my family and when I watch such a scene, it gets to me. The amount of work we&rsquo;ve put into every scene involving violence just astonishes me. We just deliver what the audience wants to see. When they tell us that they&rsquo;ve seen enough of violence, we&rsquo;ll go into a different direction. The same goes for intimate scenes.'

The third season of the much-talked-about series &lsquo;Mirzapur&rsquo; is set to premiere on July 5. In an added twist, Ali Fazal disclosed that Jitendra Kumar from the acclaimed series &lsquo;Panchayat&rsquo; would be making a cameo in the upcoming thriller.
Ali Fazal confirmed Jitendra Kumar&rsquo;s special appearance in the series in an interview with ANI. &lsquo;That's cross-promotion. We have done that,&rsquo; he said. However, other cast members expressed surprise as they intended it to be kept under wraps.
Jitendra Kumar will portray Sachiv Ji, appearing in Mirzapur for paperwork related to the death of Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), spanning two episodes.
Spilling beans on the upcoming season, Ali Fazal said that it has taken a different route with more grip on drama.&nbsp;
&lsquo;Interestingly, we have introduced hand combat. We lose some important characters, but we gain some new ones. I underwent a different kind of preparation, which was fun,&rsquo; he added.&nbsp;
Ali also recognized that his role in the Mirzapur franchise proved to be pivotal for his career, marking a significant milestone in the industry. He acknowledged that the show opened up new opportunities and broadened his horizons, emphasizing its unique impact compared to conventional series, which also influenced his journey in Hollywood.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer, the series promises to continue its gripping gangster narrative. The ensemble cast includes Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, Shweta Tripathi, Vijay Varma, among others.
The recently released trailer of the show teases heightened drama, intense power struggles, and a significant shift in alliances. Guddu Bhaiya is seen striving to consolidate his influence in Purvanchal, with Rasika Duggal's character making a surprising switch to join his side.
However, fans of Mirzapur will be disappointed this time as the beloved character Munna Bhaiya, portrayed by Divyenndu, will be absent. Despite Munna Bhaiya's demise at the end of &lsquo;Mirzapur 2&rsquo;, fans had hoped for a possible return, given the strong connection they felt with his character.

Actor Ali Fazal announced the wrap of his Amazon Prime Video series &lsquo;Mirzapur&rsquo; Season 3 on Instagram on Sunday. He shared a series of posts featuring a video where the team can be heard screaming, &lsquo;It&rsquo;s a wrap,&rsquo; and a selfie with the cast and crew.
