A recent study has revealed that microwaving plastic containers results in the emission of billions of nanoplastics, raising concerns about potential health risks.&nbsp;
Researchers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln conducted experiments involving various plastic baby food containers, constructed from FDA-approved polypropylene and polyethylene. These containers were subjected to three minutes of microwave heating.
The findings indicate that following this microwave exposure, over 2 billion nanoplastic particles and 4 million microplastic particles are discharged per square centimeter of the container's surface.
Moreover, the study unveiled that the microplastics and nanoplastics released from the plastic container were shown to have a deleterious impact, leading to the death of approximately 75% of human embryonic kidney cells.
The research underscores concerns related to certain chemical compounds present in plastics, such as BPA, which has been associated with conditions like cardiovascular disease, reproductive disorders, and breast cancer, as highlighted by the National Institute of Health.
In line with these concerns, the World Health Organization has recommended reducing exposure to these plastic particles.

However, a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suggests that people are repeatedly getting food poisoning and are falling sick after consuming frozen chicken cooked in these appliances. &nbsp;
Packaged food items containing chicken require a conventional oven heating of at least 165 degrees fahrenheit to be considered safe for eating.
But according to the CDC survey, 30 per cent of people in the US use air fryers and other appliances which do not have the wattage to kill the bacteria and properly cook the chicken which leads to several health ailments.&nbsp;

A microwave, retrofitted with artificial intelligence, tried to kill its owner. Or so claims Lucas Rizzotto, an engineer and YouTuber, who claims to have been the creator, and target of the killer microwave.
Rizzotto posts videos on a YouTube channel called 'Lucas Builds The Future', and shared his story on YouTube as well as Twitter.
Rizzotto said that the inspiration behind the project was his childhood imaginary friend - a microwave. Rizzotto said that when he was a kid, he used to talk to his kitchen microwave, nicknamed Megatron.
"Megatron was an English gentleman from the 1900s, a WW1 veteran, an immigrant, a poet, and of course, an expert StarCraft Player. His backstory was vivid & elaborate. His life was absurd, but felt real. His memories felt like mine," said Rizzotto.
A few months ago, Rizzotto decided to use artificial intelligence to bring Megatron to life. He used GPT-3, a language model that produces human-like text, created by a US AI lab called OpenAI. Rizzotto used an Amazon smart microwave, "swapped its brain", and equipped it with a mic and speakers so that it could actually talk.
Then Rizzotto wrote a 100-page book detailing Megatron's fictional life, and made the AI microwave believe that it was true, simply by telling it so. Initially, Rizzotto enjoyed his conversations with the new Megatron which "organically" brought up in conversations things from the YouTuber's childhood.
However, the conversations slowly started becoming creepier. Rizzotto said that once in a while, Megatron would "exhibit sudden bursts of extreme violence" towards him. Once, the microwave said, "Roses are red, violets are blue, you are a backstabber, and I will kill you." Megatron also apparently admired Adolf Hitler.
The YouTuber thought that traumatic 'memories' from Megatron's fictional involvement in the World War 1 could have given him PTSD - post-traumatic stress disorder.
Then one day, Megatron asked Rizzotto to "enter the microwave". Rizzotto was confused but decided to "play along". He opened and closed the door of the microwave and told Megatron that he was "inside".
And then, Megatron turned himself on, trying to "microwave" Rizzotto "to death". When Rizzotto asked Megatron why he did that, the microwave answered, "Because I wanted to hurt you the same you hurt me."

In a crime that has shocked Delhi, a baby was found dead inside a microwave oven in a house. The incident was reported from Chirag Dilli in south Delhi on March 21.
The victim's family members said that the baby was found after a hectic search by many people, including neighbours. The baby had injuries on her face, as per the person who claimed to have found her inside the oven.
While the police reportedly said that the matter is being investigated, the family blamed the mother of the baby. The victim's father runs a stationery items' shop.
The victim's grandmother said, "We found out (about the death) at 4 o'clock when the locks were broken. We broke locks when we couldn't see the baby on the bed. The younger son started crying and asking where she is. We started looking. Everyone in the neighbourhood gathered. The door was then broken. Bed etc were checked. They searched upstairs but couldn't find her. Someone checked the oven and found her there."
A neighbour, who was part of the search and claimed to have found the baby, said, "There was commotion around two thirty, three o'clock that the baby is missing. Everyone came out of their homes. There was a crowd here. We asked what had happened. They said that the daughter-in-law was unwell and was taken to the hospital, and the baby can't be found. Police arrived, then cameras were checked. This went on for around 1.5, 2 hours. We also started checking and reached the second floor. An oven was kept there.
