Rappers Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo supported Vice President Kamala Harris at her first Atlanta campaign rally for the upcoming presidential election.
Before Harris took the stage, Megan Thee Stallion opened the event with a medley of her hits. She urged the crowd, &lsquo;Make some noise for Ms. Harris, our future president&hellip; Let&rsquo;s make history, Atlanta. We&rsquo;re about to have our first female president, our first Black female president. Let&rsquo;s make it happen, hotties. Hotties for Harris!&rsquo;
Her performance featured renditions of &lsquo;Girls in the Hood,&rsquo; her viral hit &lsquo;Mamushi,&rsquo; &lsquo;Body,&rsquo; and &lsquo;Savage.&rsquo; Megan, surrounded by backup dancers in blue outfits, urged the crowd, &lsquo;If you love your body, make some noise. And if you want to keep loving your bodies, ladies, let me hear you make some noise.&rsquo;
Quavo also showed his support for Harris in her presidential bid. In 2022, following the tragic shooting death of his nephew and Migos group member Takeoff, Quavo founded the Rocket Foundation. He has collaborated with Harris to address gun violence, and last September, Quavo visited the White House to discuss strategies for reducing gun violence and safeguarding communities.
&lsquo;One of the issues I care about is resolving the gun violence issue,&rsquo; Quavo told the crowd in Atlanta.
&lsquo;And you can&rsquo;t understand the struggles of gun violence if you&rsquo;re not in the field or in the heart of it. So one thing I learned about working with Vice President Harris is she always stands on business. From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions to passing the biggest gun safety laws today. So it&rsquo;s only right in the birthplace of the culture, it&rsquo;s also the same place that launched the first African-American woman to run for president. yeah, we&rsquo;re changing the culture again. So if you never voted before, make sure you get out and vote right now &rsquo;cause it&rsquo;s the real one. And in the words of my brother Takeoff, let me get a &lsquo;Kamala,'&rsquo; he said.
Following an introduction by Tyler Greene, Harris took the stage to outline her mission to win the presidency and unite the nation. She addressed her potential opponent, Donald Trump, who has been hesitant about officially debating her. &lsquo;Well, Donald, I hope you&rsquo;ll reconsider and meet me on the debate stage. As the saying goes, if you have something to say, say it to my face,&rsquo; she said.
She ended on a hopeful note, saying &lsquo;Georgia, I ask you, are you ready to get to work?&rdquo; she said. &lsquo;Do we believe in freedom? Do we believe in opportunity? Do we believe in the promise of America? And are we ready to fight for it? And when we fight, we win.&rsquo;

BET awards celebrating the Black excellence in the entertainment industry, was hosted by actor, author, and producer Taraji P. Henson. Bringing her electric energy, Megan Thee Stallion set the stage on fire at the Awards with her show-stopping performance.
Megan Thee Stallion stole the spotlight at the 2024 BET Awards, proving her talent as a leading figure in today's hip-hop scene. Opening the event with a dynamic performance, the Grammy-winning artist justified her &lsquo;Hot Girl&rsquo; title with electrifying renditions of her hits &lsquo;Hiss,&rsquo; &lsquo;BOA,&rsquo; and &lsquo;Where Them Girls At?&rsquo; from her latest self-titled album released just days earlier on June 28, 2023. She captivated audience with her signature energy and stage presence.&nbsp;
Just two days prior, Megan had unveiled her third studio album, showcasing 18 tracks including standout singles like &lsquo;Cobra&rsquo; and &lsquo;BOA.&rsquo; In an interview last September, she shared her inspirations behind the album, emphasising confidence and willingness to take risks in her music career. Collaborations with artists such as Kyle Richh, Yuki Chiba, and Victoria Monet highlight the album's diverse appeal and Megan's evolving direction.&nbsp;
Adding to her BET Awards presence, Megan supported fellow artist GloRilla later in the evening with a performance of their collaboration &lsquo;Wanna Be.&rsquo;
The event, hosted by Taraji P. Henson, saw moments of humour and satire as the actor took playful jabs, including a memorable reference to Kendrick Lamar's diss track aimed at Drake.&nbsp;
Taraji Henson, known for her charismatic presence, donned a casual ensemble reminiscent of Lamar's style, injecting light-heartedness into the ceremony while addressing serious issues like pay disparities in Hollywood. Throughout the night, Megan Thee Stallion remained a focal point, not only for her musical achievements but also for her nominations in four categories: Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Female Hip Hop Artist, and the BET HER Award. &nbsp;

A former cameraman who collaborated with hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion has sued her, claiming harassment and the creation of a &lsquo;hostile, abusive work environment.&rsquo;
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, lists Megan Pete (the rapper's real name) and her companies Megan Thee Stallion Entertainment, Inc., Hot Girl Touring, LLC, and Roc Nation as defendants.
The lawsuit alleges violations of labor codes and asserts that the cameraman, Emilio Garcia, was not fairly compensated for his work. Garcia was reportedly hired in July 2018 and wrongly classified as an independent contractor, depriving him of California law protections such as healthcare and overtime pay.
In August 2022, Roc Nation shifted its compensation system to a pay-per-task model. However, Garcia claims that despite this change, the time demands and expectations remained unchanged while pay decreased considerably. Additionally, he alleges that Megan prohibited him from working with other clients.
Meghan's attorney, Alex Spiro, dismissed the claims, stating, &lsquo;This is an employment claim for money&mdash;with no sexual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarrass her. We will deal with this in court.&rsquo;
One disturbing incident mentioned in the complaint allegedly occurred during a night out in Ibiza, Spain, in June 2022. Garcia claims that while riding in an SUV with three other women, Megan and one of the women engaged in sexual activity &lsquo;right beside&rsquo; him. He stated that he &lsquo;could not get out of the car as it was both moving and he was in the middle of nowhere in a foreign country&rsquo; and felt &lsquo;embarrassed, mortified, and offended throughout the whole ordeal.&rsquo;
&lsquo;I felt uncomfortable. I was kind of frozen, and I was shocked. At kind of just be the overall audacity to do this right, right beside me,&rsquo; Garcia told NBC News.
It is unclear whether Megan was aware that Garcia was in the same vehicle at the time of the incident.
Garcia also alleges that Megan fat-shamed him, calling him a &lsquo;fat bitch&rsquo; and instructing him to &lsquo;spit [his] food out&rsquo; because &lsquo;you don&rsquo;t need to be eating.&rsquo;
He expressed feeling degraded, particularly because Megan promotes body positivity. Garcia's employment with Roc Nation was terminated in June 2023, which he believes was in retaliation for his complaints about labor and wage violations.
Ron Zambrano, Garcia's attorney, stated, &lsquo;Megan needs to pay our client what he&rsquo;s due, take responsibility for her behavior, and stop engaging in sexual harassment and fat-shaming. Emilio should never have been put in a position of having to be in the vehicle with her while she had sex with another woman. 'Inappropriate&rsquo; is an understatement. Exposing this behavior to employees is definitely illegal.&rsquo;

Canadian rapper Daystar Peterson popularly known as Tory Lanez, was found guilty of shooting artist Megan Thee Stallion in both of her feet after they had an argument in 2020.
The Los Angeles jury found Lanez, guilty of three charges including carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm , assault with a semiautomatic handgun and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. Lanez is likely to face jailterm and may be deported to his home country, Canada.
After the verdict, Megan's lawyer said 'The jury got it right. I am thankful there is justice for Meg'. Megan had testified against Lanez in 2020 after he shot at her feet after a pool party.
Lanez was taken into custody after the verdict was announced and is scheduled to be sentenced on January 27
