<p>Police filed a chargesheet in a local court on Monday in connection with the gruesome murder of former Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput allegedly by his wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla, a police official said.</p>
<p>The 1000-page chargesheet was filed in the court of Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) Anuj Kumar Thakur against Muskan and Sahil for offences under sections 103 (1) (punishment for murder) and 238 (A) (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).</p>
<p>Saurabh was killed on the night of March 4 at his house in Indiranagar in Meerut district. His wife, Muskan, and Sahil are accused of drugging him and stabbing him to death. It is alleged they dismembered his body, severing his head and hands, and hid the body parts in a blue drum filled with cement.</p>
<p>After the incident, both of them went to Himachal Pradesh.</p>
<p>The investigation into the sensational case revealed that Muskan had allegedly been planning the murder since November 2023, according to the police.</p>
<p>Saurabh was killed "not because of tantra-mantra, but because he was an obstacle in their love affair", the police claimed.</p>
<p>Muskan was arrested along with her lover Sahil Shukla on March 18. Earlier, Muskan "confessed" to her family, after which they were arrested.</p>
<p>Both the accused are currently in jail.</p>
<p>Brahmapuri Circle Officer Antariksh Jain told PTI on Monday that the chargesheet details the murder conspiracy, evidence and has statements of about 34 witnesses. The case has been investigated bythe Brahmapuri police station in-charge Ramakant Pachauri.</p>
<p>Police sources said that according to the initial plan, the two accused wanted to pack the body in a suitcase and throw it away. A piece of bone was also found in the suitcase.</p>
<p>According to officials, the accused have been provided a government advocate.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the jail administration said that Muskan is pregnant and has been kept in the women's barracks. Her family has distanced itself from her, while Sahil's grandmother and elder brother had met him.</p>
<p>A jail official told PTI, "On Saturday, Sahil's brother had come to meet him." Saurabh and Muskan had a love marriage in 2016, which was opposed by the family. In 2019, the couple had a daughter.</p>
<p>According to the police, due to deteriorating financial condition, Saurabh had a dispute with his family and he started living in Indiranagar. During this time, the relationship between Muskan and Sahil deepened.</p>
<p>The police said that Saurabh had filed for divorce in 2021, but the case was withdrawn due to the child. The couple's relationship remained strained.</p>

<p>Five members of a family, including three children aged eight, four and one whose bodies were stuffed in sacks and kept in a bed box, were found killed in their home, police said on Friday. Two persons were arrested for the sensational murders that shocked this Uttar Pradesh town.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Several suspects have also been taken into custody for the killing that came to light on Thursday night. The bodies of the parents were wrapped in bedsheets. And all five had deep head injuries and slash marks on their necks.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada said, "Based on a complaint filed by the relatives of the deceased woman, a case has been registered against three named accused and some unidentified persons. Two named suspects and several others have been taken into custody for questioning."<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Police said the bodies of the husband and wife were found wrapped in bedsheets, while those of their three children were stuffed in the storage compartment of a bed at the family's home in the densely populated Suhail Garden neighbourhood in the Lisari Gate police station area.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Tada added that one named suspect is absconding, and police teams have been deployed to arrest him. "All pieces of evidence are being gathered, and the case will be solved soon," he said.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; The deceased were identified as Moin alias Moinuddin (52), his wife Asma (45), and their daughters Afsah (8), Aziza (4), and Adeeba (1).&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; The bodies of the children were found stuffed in sacks and hidden in the bed's storage, the police said, adding all the victims had deep head injuries and slash marks on their necks.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; According to the Lisari Gate police, Asma's brother, Shamim, lodged a formal complaint late at night. He accused Asma's younger sister-in-law, Nazrana, and her two brothers of involvement in the suspected murders.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; The SSP, who visited the crime scene Thursday night along with other senior officers, said the family's house was locked from outside when locals and neighbours checked it in the evening.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; "After gaining access through the roof, they found the bodies," Tada told reporters. "The manner in which the house was locked suggests that the individual involved in the crime may have been someone known to the family."&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; The SSP said the preliminary investigations point towards an old enmity as the possible motive behind the incident. "A detailed investigation is underway," he added.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; The SSP further said the legs of one of the deceased were found tied with a bedsheet, adding a forensic team and senior officers are collecting evidence.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; The family had recently moved to the area and the police are investigating their background to find out more details.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Moin, who is a mechanic by profession, and Asma had been missing since Wednesday, Tada said. &nbsp; &nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; According to police, Moin's brother Salim was the first to witness the horrifying scene when he went to check on the family concerned over his brother's whereabouts.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Salim arrived at Moin's house with his wife. <p>The father of the victim said that the class 12 student was abducted by the group when the student was returning from his relative's place in the city. The miscreants took him to a deserted place nearby and at that place, the group attacked him.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The family of the student said that some of the attackers were friends of the victim but there was no known dispute between them.&nbsp;</p>
