In a recent interview, Priyanka said that thinking of characters solely in terms of lead roles is 'myopic.' She went on to say, 'I think you are coming from something which a lot of people from the South Asian community ask me. ‘Oh, it’s a small role, it’s not a leading role. Why did you do it?’ Because it’s The Matrix and I play an extremely pivotal part. Even when I picked my movies in Bollywood, I have always picked roles according to characters and they are not necessarily always the lead. The lead is Carrie-Anne Moss, who played Trinity in the last three movies. You’re not competing with that and I think it’s such a myopic and very small mentality to think that way.'
Priyanka also added that it was amazing to witness each of the actors bring something to the table.' She said, 'This is an ensemble of incredible actors and I think by asking that question, you really reduce the grandiosity of being a part of the playground of playing with such incredible people.'

As the new kid on 'The Matrix Resurrections' set, Priyanka Chopra Jonas says she initially felt intimidated by the cast from the previous movies, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience to work on a film that is led by formidable women.
The latest Matrix film is written and directed by Lana Wachowski, who along with her sister Lilly had helmed the previous three titles – "The Matrix" in 1999, "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions", both released in 2003. In the, "The Matrix Resurrections" Keanu Reeves returns as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity and Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe.
Asked about the film's action sequences, Priyanka said though she has done stunts in many of her films in Bollywood, her character of Sati specifically did not require any physical training.
"When it comes to women, especially with ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, it's led by extremely formidable female characters. All of them that you see, they are the ones leading the action... I think that was very important to our director Lana. It was something that really matters to her, she has spoken about," the 39-year-old actor told PTI.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff are the new faces in the movie franchise with Priyanka, who plays the grown-up version of Sati, a child with an important connection with Neo.
Priyanka said it was essential for her to understand how the character graduates over the years in the Matrix universe to get into the skin of Sati. She added that it was an honour to be "inducted" in the film franchise, known for redefining the action and sci-fi genre with its complex story.
"It's an extreme honour to be inducted or included in such a project and especially to be given the responsibility of the character of Sati, which I know is very close to Lana and it was very strategically placed in the previous movie. So, I was very excited when I got the role,” she said.
Recalling her first meeting with the director, the National Award winner said she took a flight to the US from India just to meet Wachowski after her agent's call.
"I remember I was filming in India and I got a call from my agent saying, Lana wants to meet me tomorrow in San Francisco. And I got onto a flight, went straight from the airport to meet her, talk to her for a while. She asked me questions about the role and then she gave me the script and said 'Welcome to The Matrix' and it was really cool." Sati is described, by the makers, as a young woman with a wisdom that belies her years and an ability to see the truth, no matter how murky the waters.
"What was required for me was having an understanding of what happened from the time we saw her in the previous movie, and where she is right now. I worked a lot with Lana about what Sati’s purpose is right now, why she is where she is and to be able to build the adult version of where you still see the younger, Sati," she said describing the character's journey within the Matrix universe.
"Like the way we have even worked with the hair, we tried to give an homage to her. That was really fun because as an actor, character development is the best part about our job," the actor, who is seen in an intriguing appearance with loose pants, knee-high boots and braided short buns, added.
"The Sky is Pink" actor said working on the movie was a "visceral" experience.
"I won't lie, as someone who's the new kid in the movie, I was very intimidated with Carrie-Anne, Keanu and Jada Pinkett and just having the cast from the previous movies on set. But they're so wonderful, so encouraging.
"Especially the new lot, as well as Yahya, Jessica, Jonathan, Neil. I was intimidated for the first few days, but after that, they were all so lovely. It was a wonderful experience because we were experiencing this really visceral thing together." "The Matrix Resurrections" is set to be released in India by Warner Bros Pictures on December 22 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

'The Batman' moves to March 2022, 'The Matrix 4' books Christmas 2021 release

Robert Pattinson-starrer 'The Batman' delayed to 2022 'The Matrix 4' to release on December 22, 2021 'The Flash' to hit screens on November 4, 2022 'Shazam! 2' will now open on June 2, 2023

Fans will have to wait a little longer to watch the upcoming superhero movie 'The Batman' starring Robert Pattinson. The film which was earlier scheduled for October 1, 2021 will now open in theatres on March 4, 2022.
Other Warner Bros. release date changes include Keannu&nbsp;Reeves-starrer&nbsp;'The Matrix 4' that has been moved from April 1, 2022 to December 22, 2021.
'The Flash' starring Ezra Miller will now hit screens on November 4, 2022 instead of June 23, 2022.
'Shazam! 2' which was scheduled to release on November 4, 2022, will now open on June 2, 2023.
The upcoming Christmas release for 'Wonder Woman 1984' remains for now.
