Losing a pet could trigger mental health issues in children: study 

The loss of a loved one, whether a fellow human being or a pet, could be quite devastating for anyone.&nbsp;
According to a new study by researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital, in children, this loss could lead to a prolonged sense of grief, eventually triggering mental health issues in them.&nbsp;
The emotional attachment with pets results in psychological&nbsp;distress which can be an indicator for depression in adolescents&nbsp;and children,&nbsp;for as long as 3 years after the loss of the pet!
Their research analysed&nbsp;6,260 children in Bristol and found that psychopathology symptom's&nbsp;after the death of the pet were observed regardless of the&nbsp;child&rsquo;s socio-economic status or hardships.
The study encourages parents to recognise these syptoms and their duration, instead&nbsp;of brushing it under the carpet.

Google searches of gastrointestinal symptoms like loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea, helped experts predict hotspots of Covid-19.
The study, which was published in the journal&nbsp;Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, looked at&nbsp;search trends during the period between January to April 2020. It found that search trends correlated with cases in New York, New Jersey, California, Massachusetts and Illinois, all of which became hotspots&nbsp;of Covid-19 3 to 4 weeks later.
The study conducted by&nbsp;Massachusetts General Hospital highlights that&nbsp;Google Trends may be a valuable tool for prediction of pandemics with Gastrointestinal manifestations. However, one drawback of the technique is the lack of specific factors like demographic or occupation.&nbsp;
