A day after a terrorist attack on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri, local residents organised a protest. A demonstration was held at the Main Chowk in Dangri village on 2 January 2023. On the same day, an explosion occurred near the home of one of the terror attack victims, killing a child and injuring 5 others.
The protestors accused the district administration of "failing" the residents, according to news agency ANI. They also demanded a visit to the area by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to directly report their grievances.
At least 4 people died and 9 others were injured in the terrorist attack on civilian homes on 1 January 2023. Doctors reportedly said that condition of some of the injured victims is "very critical". Some patients have also been airlifted to Jammu.

The headman of Dangri village criticised the administration, calling the attack a major security lapse, the PTI reported. There was a threat perception and searches were conducted in some areas of the district, he said.

He also announced a compensation of ₹10 lakhs and a government job for relatives of those killed in the attack.

Amid two terror attacks within 12 hours in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that those behind the attacks won't go "unpunished".
Sinha tweeted, "I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Rajouri. I assure the people that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families."
He also announced a compensation of ₹10 lakhs and a government job for relatives of those killed in the attack. Those seriously injured would be given ₹1 lakh each.
"Officials have been directed to ensure best treatment to injured," he added.
On 1 January 2023, terrorists entered some houses and shot 4 people dead, injuring many others. On 2 January, an explosion occurred near the house of the one of the victims of the first attack.

My condolences to the family,"Jammu and Kashmir governor Manoj Sinha too, condemned the terror attack and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. 
BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur and People's conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone also condemned Tuesday's act of violence.

The BJP unit in Jammu &amp; Kashmir on Friday demanded the arrest of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti for her "seditious remarks" wherein she said she would only hold the national tricolour when the flag of the erstwhile state is restored. In an act seen as defiance, the flag of the erstwhile state was prominently placed on a table in front of the PDP president as she addressed reporters for the first time since her release from 14-month detention following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The BJP said "no power on earth" can either hoist the state flag again or restore Article 370. J&amp;K BJP president Ravinder Raina told reporters that Governor Manoj Sinha must take cognisance of seditious remarks of Mehbooba Mufti and put her behind bars.

The package includes 5% interest subvention to every borrower, without any conditions for six months in the current financial year. Stamp duty will also be exempted up to March 2021 in case of all borrowers. 50% discount is to be given for a year in electricity and water bills as well. A customised Health-Tourism scheme by J&amp;K bank will be set up with good pricing and repayment options for financial assistance to people in this sector.
