Former Haryana Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Karnal Lok Sabha constituency, Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday hit out at the Congress party's "wealth redistribution" plan, stating that it is against the constitution and the interests of the country.
Karnal Lok Sabha BJP candidate Manohar Lal Khattar while speaking to ANI said, "The Congress party has said that if it comes to power, it will investigate every citizens wealth and redistribute it. Any such concept of redistribution of wealth was never before in the country and it never will be.
It is neither in the favour of constitution nor the country and the public must become aware that if it the Congress comes to power, what all could happen".
On the absence of local leaders during the nomination filing of Congress candidate Hooda in Karnal, Khattar remarked that the lack of support among local leaders within the Congress party reflects their internal divisions. He also revealed that many of the Congress leaders in Haryana are in touch with the BJP.
"Candidate of the Congress party in Karnal never support each other, only their close workers are with them while they campaign, neither does the public support them. They are divided into factions. Many of their people are also joining us," Khattar said.
Khattar earlier claimed that the Congress party is out of race in Haryana, and the BJP will all 10 parliamentary seats in the state in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"I am fully confident the Opposition (Congress) is out of the race... On the day of the voting, in a strong manner... I believe people will vote in large numbers. And BJP will break all previous records. We will win all 10 seats in Haryana," Khattar said while speaking to the media. Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is pitted against Youth Congress leader Divyanshu Budhiraja in the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency.
The Lok Sabha elections for the 10 parliamentary constituencies of Haryana are going to be held in a single phase on May 25.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the state, the BJP swept the state, capturing all 10 seats. In the 2014 elections, the BJP won 7 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 2 seats and the Congress secured only one seat.

Amid speculation that he may contest the Lok Sabha polls from Karnal, former Haryana chief minister M L Khattar on Wednesday announced he was resigning as a member of the state Assembly.
Khattar, who represented the Karnal seat, said newly appointed Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will take care of the constituency now.
The former chief minister made the announcement soon after the Nayab Saini government won the trust vote in the Assembly. Saini replaced Khattar as Haryana's chief minister on Tuesday.
"During the past nine-and-a-half years, I have served as the Leader of the House. I will serve the people of Haryana till my last breath," Khattar said.
"Change is a part of life. Change happens in many ways," he added.
"Hum na honge koi hum sa hoga, toh hamare Nayab Saini jaisa hoga (If I am not there, someone like me will be. They will be like our Nayab Saini)," Khattar said.
"People of Karnal sent me to the Assembly twice. I am not the chief minister now, but I am the MLA of that constituency. But Chief Minister Saini has not yet contested the assembly polls... I make the announcement in this House that I resign from Karnal assembly today," he said "From today, our chief minister will look after the Karnal assembly constituency," Khattar added.
He said whatever responsibility the BJP entrusted him with, he would do that.&nbsp;

The ruling coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) is headed for a split in the state, after the two fail to reach a seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Reports suggest the BJP is set to form a new government in Haryana with the support of independent MLAs, with a few of them accommodated in the Cabinet.
Media reports also suggest that Khattar may not return as the Chief Minister, and would contest the Lok Sabha polls instead.

 Besides this, approvals worth more than Rs 2352 crores were given in the meetings of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), Departmental High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC), and High Powered Workers Purchase Committee (HPWPC) for contracts and purchases of various items.&nbsp;
After negotiations with various bidders in the meeting, approximately Rs 74 crores were saved by determining the rates.
Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Energy Minister Ranjit Singh, Agriculture and Farmers&rsquo; Welfare Minister, J.P. Dalal, Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Development and Panchayat Minister, Devender Singh Babli, and Minister of State for Labor, Anoop Dhanak also remained present at the meeting.&nbsp;
A total of 80 agendas were kept in the meeting, and approval was given to 76 agendas.&nbsp;

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Wednesday urged people to use water judiciously and avoid its wastage.
The chief minister was virtually addressing people after inaugurating 60 Amrit Sarovars across the state from the Dult village in the Tohana assembly constituency of the Fatehabad district.
Out of the 60 Sarovars that are inaugurated on Wednesday, 31 are located in the Fatehabad district.
Khattar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the Amrit Sarovar Mission in 2022 to rejuvenate the country's ponds.
Under this mission, Haryana has successfully constructed 2,078 Amrit Sarovars. An additional 200 Amrit Sarovars will be built in the coming months, he said, according to an official statement.
Khattar said that to rejuvenate ponds, the Haryana Pond and Wastewater Management Authority has been established and it has been directed to survey the ponds available.
According to the survey, a total of 19,649 ponds have been identified in the state, with approximately 18,000 in rural areas. Out of these ponds, about 11,000 are polluted, and efforts are being made for their rejuvenation, he said.

Ahead of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Nyay Yatra, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday took a swipe at the Congress, referring to "factionalism" within the party's state unit and claimed its leaders are doing "an-nyay (injustice)" with each other.
The Congress has announced the Bharat Nyay Yatra, led by Gandhi, from Manipur to Mumbai, passing through 14 states and 85 districts from the east to the west of India in 67 days, beginning January 14 -- an exercise seen as the party's attempt to rally support ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Gandhi had earlier led the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir that had also passed through Haryana.
Khattar said when asked about the yatra, "Haryana mein ek doosre ke saath jo an-nyay kar rahe hai, woh wohi hai. Kisse nyay maang rahe hai, kiske liye maang rahe hai?" He also mentioned that there are two factions in the Congress' state unit -- one led by former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and another by Randeep Singh Surjewala, Kumari Selja and Kiran Choudhary. The second group, Khattar said, is nowadays being referred to as the "SRK Group".
"SRK (Group) Hooda se an-nyay kar raha hai, Hooda kissi aur se an-nyay kar raha hai, toh an-nyay ki gaatha hai unke toh (SRK Group is doing injustice with Hooda, Hooda is doing injustice with someone else. It is a saga of injustice)," Khattar said.
Speaking to reporters after a Cabinet meeting, Khattar also took on the Congress, saying the more it attacks his government's flagship programme such as the Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID), Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam and other schemes, the more it will be targeted by the people benefitting from these.

According to the official statement , he also instructed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to provide bonus to the sanitation workers.

1,000 and 1,500 angry farmers launched a protest outside the CM Khattar's home in Karnal after Centre decided to delay paddy procurement in Punjab and Haryana till October 11.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha announced decision to withdraw demonstrations as Central Govt decided to begin the procurement of Kharif crops from Sunday.
Earlier, thousands of protesters, shouting slogans and waving flags against Centre&rsquo;s farm laws, gathered outside the residence of Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar in Karnal.
The protest was launched after Centre decided to delay paddy procurement in Punjab and Haryana till October 11.

Farmers were trying to break police barricades to reach the residences of MLAs. Visuals from the area showed farmers who are demanding that procurement begin immediately, standing on a pile of yellow police barricades and shouting angrily.
Police had to use water cannon against them.
Paramilitary forces have been deployed outside Khattar&rsquo;s residence, while roads leading to his house have also been barricaded by Haryana Police.
