A day after a video of naked women being paraded in Manipur surfaced, hundreds of people of tribal communities took to the streets and protested against the shameful public molestation and humiliation of women.
In the video from the rally, a huge crowd is seen walking as it pours.&nbsp;
The incident occurred on May 4, just as clashes in the northeastern state were erupting.&nbsp;
The video has sent shockwaves across the nation with political parties slamming the state government over inaction and PM Modi reacting to the horrific incident.&nbsp;
So far, the alleged mastermind in the incident, seen in a green t-shirt in the video has been arrested by police, ANI said.&nbsp;

Notably, the complaint was filed on May 18, however, arrests were made only after the old video of the shocking case went viral on July 19.

Coming down heavily on the State Police regarding lack of action in the incident related to viral video, Governor said, "Today I called the DGP of the state, asking why no action was taken on the complaint by the police. I have directed the DGP to take immediate steps to book the perpetrators of this heinous crime and award exemplary punishment as per law,"
The Manipur governor said "I have also asked the DGP to take action against the Police officials of the station where the complaint of this incident was lodged, for not taking any action," she said while asking the DGP to act against erring police officials.
"Never in future, any person should have the courage to commit these types of crimes against women," she added.
A video of the two-month-old incident had gone viral evoking strong sharp reactions from various political parties and triggering outrage. Meanwhile, Manipur Governor met Director General of Police Rajiv Singh at Raj Bhavan in Imphal and inquired about the Manipur viral video case and the progress of the investigation in the case.
"The Governor also asked the DGP for giving special protection to the victims, if required," Raj Bhawan stated.

As the uproar over the horrific incident of stripped women being paraded in Manipur continues, the latest details have come to the fore.&nbsp;
As per NDTV, the shameful public molestation was triggered by a post--believed to be fake.&nbsp;
The act was in fact, a revenge to an alleged fake piece of information that circulated before the ethnic clashes in the north-eastern state broke out.&nbsp;
As per multiple reports, a photo of a woman claimed to be from the Meitei tribe was circulated on social media saying that the woman was raped and killed by Kuki community.
It was later revealed the information circulating was fake and had no connection with any woman in Manipur. It was actually the body of rape victim from Delhi. However, unfortunately, it became grounds for the brutal Manipur incident.&nbsp;
Tension mounted in the hills of Manipur after a May 4 video surfaced on Wednesday showing two women from one of the warring communities being paraded naked by a few men from the other side. The alleged mastermind was arrested on Thursday.
