The first "Oxygen Express" train arrived in Maharashtra's Nagpur on Friday evening with seven tankers carrying the life-saving liquid oxygen as the deadly wave of the COVID-19 pandemic batters the state. Three of the seven tankers have been unloaded at Nagpur Junction railway station, news agency ANI reported. Each tanker is carrying 15 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen. The train carrying the large oxygen tankers pulled out from a facility run by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) in Visakhapatnam on Thursday evening. The railways will run the "Oxygen Express" train from steel plants that produce oxygen to different parts of the country to meet the demand.

The state health department said that the new infections have taken the tally to 37,70,707.
Besides, 419 deaths due to the pandemic were reported in the state, which pushed the death toll to 59,970.
As many as 56,783 patients were discharged during the day, raising the number of recovered cases to 30,61,174.
The state had earlier recorded its highest one-day spike in cases on Friday at 63,729.
Mumbai recorded 8,811 new cases and 51 fatalities, taking the city's case tally to 5,71,018 and the death toll to 12,301.

As many as 56,783 patients were discharged during the day, raising the number of recovered cases to 30,61,174.
The state had earlier recorded its highest one-day spike in cases on Friday at 63,729.
Mumbai recorded 8,811 new cases and 51 fatalities, taking the city's case tally to 5,71,018 and the death toll to 12,301.

The states Covid-19 tally increased to 14,00,922, while 394 more deaths took the fatality count beyond the 37,000 mark to 37,056. A total of 16,104 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of recovered cases to 11,04,426. With this, the state now has 2,59,006 active cases.

Pune city added 1,069 COVID-19 cases, raising its tally to 1,56,783, while 25 new deaths took the toll to 3,553, the official said.
The state has so far conducted 68,75,451 tests.
