Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra on Saturday shared on Twitter a purported video clip of BJP's former MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja, who is allegedly seen admitting his supporters have so far "lynched five people".
The BJP leader is seen making the comment while interrupting a speaker, who was urging a group of people to launch an agitation against the lynching of 45-year-old Chiranjilal Saini. Saini was allegedly lynched by members of a minority community community on August 14 in Govindgarh town on suspicion of tractor theft.
He died during treatment at Jaipur’s state-run SMS Hospital a day later. 
BJP's Alwar (South) chief Sanjay Singh Naruka told PTI that the party "does not have this thinking". "These are his own views," he added.
When contacted by news agency PTI, the former Ramgarh MLA maintained his remarks, saying anyone involved in cow smuggling and slaughter won’t be spared.
Sharing the video, Dotasra said it has exposed the BJP’s true face.
"What more proof is needed of the BJP's religious terror and bigotry? The real face of the BJP has been exposed," he said.
Ahuja said he was sitting with a local RSS leader who suggested that an agitation should be launched to protest the lynching of Chirajilal Saini.
In the video, the former MLA interrupted him, "We have so far lynched five people, be it in Lawandi or Behror. This has happened for the first time in this area that they have lynched someone." "I have given free hand to workers to kill. We will get them acquitted and secure bail," he continues.
In recent years, at least two incidents have taken place in Alwar where cow vigilantes attacked minority community people on allegation of cow smuggling.
In one such incident, 55-year-old Pehlu Khan was lynched in Behror on April 1, 2017. Similarly, Rakbar Khan died after being beaten up in Lawandi village in Alwar's Ramgarh on July 20, 2018 on suspicion of cow smuggling.

The Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal party tweeted a video of a man purportedly being harassed and accused of beef consumption. The man has reportedly been identified as Mohammad Khaleel Alam, a member of the ruling Janata Dal (United) party from Samastipur.
Alam was allegedly beaten to death, and then buried in a ditch, as per news reports. The alleged killers also poured petrol on the body and tried to burn it, according to some accounts. They reportedly sprayed salt on the corpse to make it decay faster.

Bihar police denied a communal angle in the crime, and said that it was a tactic to divert attention from a murder, as per reports.
Alam reportedly went missing, and his family filed a report with the police on February 16. For the next few days, they reportedly received extortion calls. On February 19, Alam's body was reportedly recovered from the bank of the Burhi Gandak river.
RJD MLA and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav said that the law and order system has collapsed under the NDA government. He asked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to explain why such incidents are taking place in the state.

"We did not find any sacrilege attempt or any evidence to back it. One person ran the Gurdwara. This thing has moved to murder and the inquiry is on. The FIR registered in the case will be amended," CM Channi told reporters.
On Sunday, a man was beaten to death by a mob after being accused of trying to remove the Sikh religious flag Nishan Sahib at a gurdwara in Kapurthala. The man was chased and killed in the presence of the police.
The incident took place a day after another man was beaten to death at the Golden Temple in Amritsar after an alleged sacrilege attempt.
Addressing the press, Charanjit Singh Channi said that the state police are investigating the incidents of violence at the Golden Temple and Kapurthala.
After the Kapurthala incident, the police had also said that it appeared to be a case of theft and that there were "no visible signs of a sacrilege attempt."

BJP leaders on Tuesday raked up the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 and called former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi the "father of mob lynching" to hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his attack on the government over incidents of lynching.
"Before 2014, the word 'lynching' was practically unheard of. #ThankYouModiJi," Rahul Gandhi tweeted, days after two cases of lynching in the Congress-ruled Punjab. The two men were lynched in separate incidents, and both of them were accused of sacrilege by Sikh religious leaders.
Speaking to reporters, Union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey noted that hundreds of Sikhs were killed in the 1984 riots, for which some Congress leaders were blamed, and also referred to the 1989 Bhagalpur riots to ask if these were not lynchings.
"Mobs killed Sikhs by burning tyres around their neck. Wasn't it lynching?" he asked.
BJP's IT department head Amit Malviya tweeted, "Meet Rajiv Gandhi, father of mob lynching, justifying blood curdling genocide of Sikhs. Congress took to streets, raised slogans like 'khoon ka badla khoon se lenge', raped women, wrapped burning tyres around necks of Sikh men while dogs gorged on charred bodies dumped in drains." He posted a short clip of the former prime minister's speech.

Mumbai Police has issued a show-cause notice to Republic TV's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami over his alleged communal comments during his coverage of the Palghar lynching case and the Bandra migrants

Mumbai Police on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to Republic TV's Editor-in-Chief ArnabGoswami over his alleged communal comments during his coverage of the Palghar lynching case and the Bandra migrants incident in April this year. Goswami&nbsp;has been asked why&nbsp;a bond of good behaviour should not be taken from him, a police official told PTI.&nbsp;He has been asked to appear before the Special Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Worli Division on Friday at 4 pm.&nbsp;

Mumbai, PTI: Mumbai Police on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to Republic TV's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami over his alleged communal comments during his coverage of the Palghar lynching case and the Bandra migrants incident in April this year. The notice has been sent under section 108 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), asking Mr Goswami to show reasons as to why a bond of good behaviour should not be taken from him, a police official said.
He has been asked to appear before the Special Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Worli Division on Friday at 4 pm, the official added.
On April 21, Arnab Goswami conducted a debate on his show "Puchhta Hain Bharat" on Republic Bharat about the attack on two monks and their driver in Maharashtra's Palghar.
The show-cause notice said during the debate (in Hindi), Mr Goswami asked whether it was a crime to be Hindu and wear saffron clothes and whether people would have remained silent had the victims not been Hindus.
A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for "giving provocation to cause riot" and "promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion" and other sections has been registered against Mr Goswami following the program, it added.
His comments could create communal disharmony and hatred between Hindus and Muslims, and the show evoked strong reactions on YouTube, the notice said.
Only because of the coronavirus pandemic there was no violence but the comments posed a threat to communal integrity and law and order, so as a preventive action the police had now started the process of taking an undertaking for good behaviour from Arnab Goswami, the official said.
A bond of ₹ 10 lakh for the duration of one year with one guarantor "who is well-known in society and who can control his behaviour" will be taken from Mr Goswami, he added.
