Following violence at the Presidential Palace, Congress and the Supreme Court against Brazilian President Lula's election on January 8, the governor of capital Brasilia was expelled for three months for failing to fix security lapses.
According to a report by The Washington Post, The Supreme Court ordered immediate suspension of the governor accusing him and the district&rsquo;s head of public security of abetting the unprecedented attack on the country&rsquo;s capital.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Absolutely NOTHING justifies the secretary of public security and the governor of the federal district&rsquo;s omission and coexistence with criminals who had previously announced they would conduct violent acts against constitutional powers,&rdquo; Justice Alexandre de Moraes wrote in his decision.

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva condemned the invasion of Brazil's Congress, Supreme Court and presidential palace Sunday by "fascist fanatics," after supporters of far-right ex-president Jair Bolsonaro unleashed scenes of chaos in the capital.
The veteran leftist, who defeated Bolsonaro in a divisive election to take office a week ago, signed a decree declaring a federal intervention in Brasilia, giving his government special powers to restore law and order in the capital after a sea of Bolsonaro supporters overwhelmed security forces to invade the seat of power.
"We will find out who these vandals are, and they will be brought down with the full force of the law," Lula said from the southeastern city of Araraquara, where he was visiting a region hit by severe floods.

Thousands of supporters of Bolsonaro, who refuse to believe the results of the recent elections in which he lost, crossed security barriers, climbed on roofs, smashed windows, and caused other mayhem.
Within a few hours, police had reportedly retaken the Supreme Court and Congress buildings.
The attack came a week after Bolsonaro's successor Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was inaugurated as President.
In a news conference from Sao Paulo state, Lula said Bolsonaro had encouraged the uprising by those he termed &ldquo;fascist fanatics,&rdquo; and he read a freshly signed decree for the federal government to take control of security in the federal district.
&ldquo;There is no precedent for what they did and these people need to be punished,&rdquo; Lula said.

Bolsonaro lost the election to da Silva in October, but the ex-President's supporters have challenged the result, calling for an intervention by the armed forces.
"The depredation and attempted invasion of the Federal Police building in Brasilia are unacceptable," said Flavio Dino, future Justice and Public Security Minister in the upcoming administration of President-elect Luiz In&aacute;cio Lula da Silva.
Police in full gear were rushed to the Federal Police's headquarters as back up, as officers had to use stun grenades and rubber bullets, local media reported. Police also blocked several avenues and streets across Brasilia.
Protesters elsewhere set at least one bus on fire and were seen gathering metal barriers.
