The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday extended the lockdown in the state till July 19 easing out a few restrictions for the citizens.
Hotels, bakeries, roadside shops and snack shops can function with 50% of customers till 9pm. Intra-district as well as inter-district public transport will be permitted with 50% capacity with bus services resuming to Puducherry. Earlier, the DMK-led government had restricted bus services to stop in Puducherry due to increase in Covid-19 cases. The state government has also allowed conducting of examinations for employment for Tamil Nadu State and Central Government.
Schools, colleges, theatres, liquor bars, swimming pools and zoos continue to remain closed. A maximum of 50 people will be permitted to attend weddings while only 20 people will be allowed to attend funerals.

The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday extended the lockdown in the state till July 19 but eased several restrictions for the residents.
Shops can stay open till 9 pm.

In the wake of rising&nbsp;coronavirus cases, the Assam government has declared total lockdown in seven districts of the state.&nbsp;
A complete&nbsp;lockdown has been imposed in Goalpara, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Morigaon.&nbsp;
All workplaces, business/commercial establishments, shops, restaurants and other eateries will be closed under the new restrictions. The Assam government has also imposed a total ban on the movement of all public and private transport in the total containment districts.&nbsp;
According to the new standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Tuesday, the curfew order will come into effect from 5 am on July 7 and remain in force until further notice.
Further, the state will keep a close eye on the Covid-19 cases in Sivasagar and Dibrugarh district.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also announced the withdrawal of &ldquo;triple lockdown&rdquo; which was in place in three districts &mdash; Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Thrissur from May 16, as the test positivity rate and active case load have come down. However, the &ldquo;triple lockdown&rdquo; will be continued in Malappuram district. As per the state govt's health bulletin, 29,673 new Covid-19 cases, 41,032 recoveries and 142 deaths were recorded on Friday.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar announced on Thursday that the statewide lockdown imposed to control the spread of the coronavirus disease, is being extended for 10 days, from May 16-25.&nbsp;
The ongoing lockdown has shown a "positive impact" in controlling the situation, he added.
According to a Bihar health department bulletin on May 12, the state's Covid-19 tally stood at 6,22,433. 9,863 people tested positive for the viral disease in the last 24 hours, the overall death toll, meanwhile, reached 3,503 with 74 more people succumbing to the infection.
