Earlier, filmmaker Pa Ranjith had also shared the video which chronicles the love story of a lesbian couple. He wrote, "Art of LOVE Presenting the music video of #Magizhini, a unique Saregama Tamil Original song ft. @Gourayy& @AnaghaOfficial."
The man behind the beautiful song is VG Balasubramanian, who wrote and directed the masterpiece. Madhan Karky wrote the lyrics for the song, which was released by Saregama Originals.

Facing opposition from their parents, they pair up for Bharatnatyam classes, which sparks the beginning of a very delicate romance. Abandonment of sorts led&nbsp;them to form an intimate, passionate bond. The film came as a culture shock and was opposed vehemently across the country, with movie theatres being vandalised. But after an uproar from feminist organisations, the film was cleared without any trouble.
My Brother Nikhil&nbsp;| 2005Set in Goa in the late-90s, 'My Brother Nikhil' is inspired by a real-life story.&nbsp;Swimming champion Nikhil played by Sanjay&nbsp;Suri is diagnosed with HIV and on finding out that he is also gay, an array of insults follows from his parents and friends. Featuring Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Suri and Purab Kohli in the lead roles, the film had a dignified take on the stigma surrounding HIV&nbsp;and homosexuality.&nbsp;

The film stars Kalki Koechlin as Laila, a talented writer and musician suffering from cerebral palsy. Her same-sex relationship with a blind Pakistani girl played by Sayani Gupta forms the emotional crux of this brave love story. However, Laila&rsquo;s journey from being a protected teenager in Delhi to a liberated woman in New York, discovering her sexual orientation is what makes this film, worth a watch.

The twist comes when Sweety confesses that she is in love with a girl. In this film,&nbsp;Sonam Kapoor, played a lesbian character, which was a first for a&nbsp;mainstream Bollywood&nbsp;film.

June across the world is celebrated as Pride Month. Rainbow flags, floats and cheers of LGBTQ+ people of all cultures come out, of the closet and on to the streets to show the world that they are here! But where does the idea of June as the Pride Month even come from?
The gay rights movement that catapulted it to global focus was in June 1969 when police raided the Stonewall Inn in NYC. The incident at Stonewall, a popular gathering space for LGBTQ+ community, became emblematic of the pride marches.&nbsp;
Speaking of emblems, the rainbow flag is synonymous with Pride. It was created by artist Gilbert Baker at the request of Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the U.S., to create a symbol of pride for the gay community. Baker saw the rainbow as a natural flag from the sky, so he adopted eight colours for the stripes, each colour with its own meaning:
Red for life
Orange for healing
Yellow for sunlight
Green for nature
Indigo for harmony
Violet for spirit

The Centre on Monday sought adjournment from the Delhi High Court for 3 petitions seeking recognition of same-sex marriage.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted before the court that as per a High Court circular on Covid, the court was hearing only &lsquo;extremely urgent matter&rsquo;.
Mehta said that the focus of the government is on &lsquo;real urgent issues&rsquo; and nobody is dying because they don&rsquo;t have a marriage certificate.
While the petitioners argued that the matters were sent by the Chief Justice&rsquo;s Bench to the present Bench, the Court adjourned the petitions till July 6th.
Even though homosexuality has been decriminalised under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, the state does not recognise same-sex marriages. The 3 petitions seek marriage equality under the Hindu Marriage Act, Special Marriage Act and Foreign Marriage Act. The Central government has opposed the petitions on grounds that there is no fundamental right to same-sex marriage.
