Speaking from the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, Makki denied having any links with al-Qaeda or the Islamic State (ISIS).

Days after he was declared a designated terrorist by the United Nations Security Council's 1267 Committee, Pakistani terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki released a video from prison.
Speaking from the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, Makki denied having any links with al-Qaeda or the Islamic State (ISIS). Makki said that he was added to the 1267 Committee's sanctions list based on "disinformation by the Indian government".
He is the deputy leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba, and the brother-in-law of its chief Hafiz Saeed. He is in jail since 2019 over terror financing cases.
"I denounce all kinds of terrorism and violence perpetrated by such groups. I believe in the principal position of the Pakistani government regarding Kashmir&hellip;," he said.
He regretted the UNSC's decision to enlist him without giving fair opportunity to respond to allegations or hearing his point of view. "No due process was followed or information was provided regarding these listings," Makki said.

Suhail was planning an attack on some leaders from the Indian state of Punjab, as per the probe.

One of the alleged terrorists arrested in Delhi recently has revealed that he tried to visit Pakistan via Nepal twice, but failed, according to an ANI report.
Naushad Ali told investigators that he used to receive regular instructions from Pakistani handlers named Ashfaq and Suhail, as per sources quoted by ANI on 19 January 2023. Both the handlers are alleged members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organisation.
Suhail was planning an attack on some leaders from the Indian state of Punjab, as per the probe.
Naushad Ali and Jagjit Singh were arrested by police from Jahangirpuri in Delhi on 12 January for allegedly being in touch with terrorist outfits. Three pistols and 22 live cartridges were recovered from them, cops had said.
Naushad had been associated with terror outfit 'Harkat ul-Ansar'. He has been a life convict in two cases of murder and has also undergone 10 years sentence in an Explosive Act case, Delhi Police had said.

UNSC lists Pakistan-based Abdul Rehman Makki as global terrorist


He has been accused of raising funds, recruiting and radicalising youth, and planning terrorist attacks in India, especially Jammu and Kashmir.

Yet another Pakistan-based terrorist has been declared as a global terrorist by the United Nations Security Council.
The UNSC's ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee on 16 January 2023 added Abdul Rehman Makki to its list of global terrorists. Makki is the brother-in-law of Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed.
In June 2022, China had blocked India's proposal to add Makki to the list of the Sanctions Committee, which is also called the UNSC 1267 Committee. Makki has already been designated a terrorist by India and the United States of America under domestic laws.

Sheikh Sajjad Gul, a commander of TRF, has also been designated a terrorist under UAPA law.

The Union government on 5 January 2023 banned The Resistance Front (TRF), a terrorist group seen as a proxy for Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
TRF was declared a banned organisation for recruiting youth for terrorism, infiltration of terrorists, and smuggling of weapons and narcotics from Pakistan, according to the Home ministry.
Sheikh Sajjad Gul, a commander of TRF, has also been designated a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

In another victory for security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, 3 terrorists part of Lashkar-e-Taiba ranks were killed in Shopian district on 20 December 2022.
Two of the dead terrorists were identified as Lateef Lone of Shopian, and Umer Nazir of Anantnag, according to police. While Lateef Lone was allegedly involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit P Krishna Bhat, Umer Nazir allegedly had a hand in the murder of T Bahadur Thapa of Nepal.

A Lashkar-e-Toiba commander, who along with his accomplice, was held by the brave villagers from Resai district before being handed to police, was a member of the BJP, local reports and Opposition leaders from Jammu and Kashmir said on Sunday. Two heavily-armed Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, alib Hussain and Faisal Ahmad Dar, were apprehended Tukson Dhok villagers. The Police said the two most wanted terrorists had reached the area to take shelter after continuous pressure from the police and army in Rajouri district.Police said Talib was the mastermind of the recent IED blasts in Rajouri.
Many social media users claimed Talib is associated with the Bhartiya Janta Party and posted several photos of him attending saffron party's event. 
Bilal Rashid, a local activist of the Congress also posted a letter on twitter which showed that the LeT terrorist was the head of IT for BJP's minority cell in Jammu.

Reacting to the reports, BJP leader Ravindra Raina said it is difficult for them to verify evrry person who seeks BJP membership. He said that the police has no warned them of what he called infilitration attempts to come close to saffron leaders.
