India's every language is completely connected with other languages and the development of all languages is not possible without each other, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday.
Launching the 'Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag' (Indian Languages Section) here, Shah said only by strengthening all the local languages of the country, "we can take India to its eternal glorious position".
"Every language of ours is completely connected with other languages and the development of all languages is not possible without each other. All our languages are like rivers combine together to form the Ganga of Indian culture," he said.
The home minister said Indian languages are the soul of the country's culture and the culture is the soul of India.
He said the Indian Languages Section will provide a strong and organised platform to all languages, incorporating the linguistic diversity of India.
Shah said the Indian Languages Section will prove to be a milestone in the direction of freeing the administration from the influence of foreign languages.
"Our potential can be fully exploited only when our processes of thinking, analysis and decision-making are in our mother tongue," he said.
He said technology should be used without reducing the spirit, richness and sensitivities of all languages. "We will definitely win the battle against the imposition of English upon us," he said.
Shah said with the establishment of the Indian Languages Section, the department of official language has now become a complete entity.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on January 13 amended a legislation, to make securing a pass in Tamil language paper compulsory for recruitment to State government services, with retrospective effect, from December 1, 2021. The Bill was tabled to amend the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act 2016.&nbsp; As per the amendments, even if a candidate was qualified and acquired the job, he or she should pass in Tamil paper within two years of acquiring the job, failing which they shall be discharged from service. The amendment Bill was later adopted by a voice-vote.&nbsp;

In&nbsp;fact, greater road density&nbsp;was linked to a higher endangerment risk&nbsp;for languages within a region.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The first-of-its-kind global report found that out of the 7,000 documented languages, more than half are currently endangered&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;rare&nbsp;ones face an acute&nbsp;risk of completely disappearing within the next century.&nbsp;

Assessing around&nbsp;51 factors or predictors, the researchers&nbsp;discovered that schooling in a dominant language was one of the biggest reasons behind the&nbsp;loss&nbsp;of minority languages.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Writing in&nbsp;Nature Ecology and Evolution, the team urged for bi- or multilingual education and support for&nbsp;programs that let communities bring their heritage language into schools.&nbsp;

It has also been estimated that there are around 7,400 languages in the world today. As per linguists, if these languages are not recorded and passed on then 30 percent of all languages can disappear by the end of the 21st century.
The study also suggests that the extinction of languages and cultural diversity will have a more devastating effect on the field of medicine than biodiversity loss.&nbsp;
In conclusion, for its survival, it is necessary to create a society where threatened languages are taught, used and preserved. These languages need to be documented before they disappear forever!
