In a major mishap in Delhi, the roof of a building collapsed, trapping many people, on 9 October 2022. The incident occurred near Valmiki Mandir in Lahori Gate area, and fire services received a call about the roof collapse around 7:30 pm.
Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and officials rescued five people who were then transferred to a hospital in an injured condition. 3-4 more people were believed to be trapped underneath the debris.
Earthmover machines were seen trying to clear the rubble. A National Disaster Response Force team also reached the spot to help with the search and rescue.

Firefighters were soon joined by a National Disaster Response Force team to rescue those trapped under the debris. Officials said that the rain was hampering search and rescue operations.
While 4-year-old Khushi died, nine injured persons were admitted to Lok Nayak hospital for treatment.
