PTI, Banka/Bhagalpur:&nbsp;Beginning his election tours with a public meeting at Banka, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Wednesday alerted people not to fall in anybody's "publicity trap" else while their income would multiply but that of the common man would slide as was the case before the present dispensation came on the scene.
He cautioned people that any error in making a right decision while casting vote would pave way for return of condition that prevailed 15 years before the NDA assumed reins of the state in 2005 end.
After launching campaign for Bihar polls on Monday with a virtual rally and addressing two more digital rallies Tuesday, Kumar started addressing election meetings physically with a public meeting at Balua maidan in Banka district during the day.
From there he flew to Bhagalpur to address a second rally at Sultanganj and after that another one at Munger and the last in Mokama in the outskirts of Patna.
On return to the state capital, he addressed a virtual rally from the party headquarters in a bid to reach out to maximum number of people during the election.
Reports from ground zero suggested that while the CM and others sitting on the dais wore masks and maintained social distancing norms to ward off danger of spread of deadly coronavirus, among the general public who had turned up in good numbers in the rallies many were sighted without mask and standing in close proximity to each other.
Seeking vote for his party candidates, Kumar who heads the ruling Janata Dal (United), listed achievements of his governments in the last 15 years and reeled out figure to compare them with the situation prevailing in the state for an equal amount of time before that.
The RJD was in power in Bihar from 1990 to 2005. Kumar is at the helm of state affairs since then.
Kumar has already made it clear that "15 years vs 15 years" would be the dominant narrative in the present state elections.
"Look at the work and don't fall in anybody's publicity trap else while their income would multiply but yours would come down as was the case 15 years before we came on the scene to reconstruct Bihar," the JD(U)'s star campaigner said.
Making a scathing attack at his bete noire Lalu Prasad, Kumar said "some people work only for their wife, sons and daughters while for me the entire Bihar is the family for whom I work day and night." While, Prasad two sons and eldest daughter are occupying prominent posts in the party and also holding constitutional positions, neither Kumar's lone son nor any other members of his family are active in politics.
Kumar's wife has already died.
The RJD supremo's younger son Tejashwi Yadav has been accepted as their chief ministerial candidate by the Grand Alliance partners.
"Apne liye kaam karne wale andaar hai (those who work for themselves only are behind the bars today because of their deeds," he said while taking a veiled dig at Prasad.
Prasad is in jail in Ranchi after conviction in four cases of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam.
Taking a jibe at the opponents, he said "while we will work for Bihar, they will work for upliftment of their family. We will work for progress while they will spend time on 'satyanash' (destruction) of the state." The JD(U) president reiterated that if voters give him another chance, his government would unroll "Saat Nischay" (Seven resolves) part II, to take up more developmental programmes in the state.
Seven resolves part I, launched by the Kumar administration for its 2015-20 term, comprised seven schemes to ensure basic necessities such as supply of piped drinking water, construction of toilets and concrete drains and electricity connection to every household. Most of the projects have been completed.
Its second part will focus on enhancing skill of youths to brighten their jobs prospect, promoting entrepreneurship among women by providing them financial assistance, irrigation facility to every agriculture field and additional health facilities for people and animals.
He made special mention of work done for empowerment of women by giving them 50 per cent reservation in election to panchayats and urban local bodies and earmarking 35 per cent jobs for them in the state government.

A critically ill 74-year-old man was rescued from a freezer box on Tuesday after he was allegedly made to lie in it overnight by his family who were waiting for him to die. The incident happened in Tamil Nadu's&nbsp;Salem district. The cold and shivering old man was found by an executive agent who had come to take back the freezer box which had been hired by the 74-year-old's&nbsp;brother. Then executive then raised an alarm and arrange for the old man to be pulled out. The&nbsp;septuagenarian, identified as&nbsp;Balasubramania Kumar&nbsp;has been admitted to the hospital. Citing a forensic science laboratory report, ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said the cause of her death is an injury on the neck and trauma resulting due to it.

Citing a forensic science laboratory (FSL) report, ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said the cause of her death is an injury on the neck and trauma resulting due to it.
"The report of the FSL has also come. It says clearly that samples did not have sperm. It makes clear that there was not rape or gang rape," Kumar said.
"Even the woman in her statement to police did not mention about rape but talked about 'marpeet' (beating) only,&rdquo; he said.
"For disturbing social harmony and create caste violence, some persons wrongly presented facts," the UP police officer said.
"Police took immediate action in the case and now we will identify those who tried to disturb social harmony and create caste violence," the ADG added, stressing that people "distorted facts" in the media.&nbsp;

He talked about prohibition in Bihar and made it clear that its going to stay in the state till he is in power.&nbsp;Kumar cited the central government data of 2018 to show that Bihars law and order situation was much better than many other states.

Kumar raked up the issue of former minister Chandrika Rai's daughter Aishwarya Rai, estranged wife of RJD president Lalu Prasads elder son Tej Pratap Yadav.
Their marriage has broken and the matter is pending in a Patna court.
Kumar also refered about Jai Vardhan Yadav, grandson of former union minister Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav.
Chandrika Rai and Jai Vardhan Yadav, both RJD MLAs and hailing from yadav caste, recently switched over to JD(U).
Kumar was addressing partys virtual rally named "Nischay Samvad" which was broadcast live through newly launched digital platform jdulive.com from Karpoori Thakur Sabhagar (conference hall) at the party office here.
The rally was also available on facebook, twitter and TV channels.
Thakur was a veteran socialist leader who served as chief minister of Bihar.
"I want to know what happened with former CM Daroga Prasad Rais son Chandrika Rai and his daughter Aishwarya Rai.
What kind of treatment was meted out to Aishwarya Rai.
"She is well educated. People talk on education and see what happened to educated people. This is a family matter on which I do not want to say anything, Kumar said taking an apparent dig at the RJD supremo and his family.

PTI, Patna:&nbsp;The Lok Janshakti Party will hold a crucial meeting of its Bihar leaders on Monday to decide whether to fight against the JD(U) in the upcoming state assembly polls amid worsening ties between the two members of the ruling NDA.
On the eve of the meeting, LJP president Chirag Paswan fired yet another salvo at JD(U) president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying his decision to provide government jobs to kin of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes community members who were killed is "nothing but an election-related announcement".
In a letter to the Bihar chief minister, he accused Kumar of not fulfilling earlier promises made to SCs and STs, including giving them three dismil of land.
The LJP president said that "if the Nitish Kumar government was sincere", it should give jobs to a family member of all those from the communities who were killed during its 15-year rule.
The LJP, whose main face is Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan, and the JD(U) have been sniping at each other for months.
Kumar's decision to join hands with former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, a Dalit leader like the Paswans with a history of targeting the LJP, has further soured their ties.
While aiming at Kumar, Chirag Paswan has refrained from attacking the BJP and has even been lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
One of the options that Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan's party, now headed by his son Chirag Paswan, may consider is to remain a part of the BJP-led NDA at the Centre but to fight outside the coalition's fold in the state, while not contesting against the saffron party, sources said.
It may be noted that the LJP had in February 2005 fought against the RJD in the Bihar assembly polls, even though both regional parties were part of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.
The LJP put up candidates against the RJD while maintaining its ties with the Congress.
This had led to the formation of a hung assembly in the state, ending Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD's 15-year rule, and another assembly poll held a few months later saw the Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) and BJP alliance storming to power with their maiden majority.
While BJP leaders, including its national president J P Nadda, have been insisting that all three NDA parties will fight the upcoming polls together, sources said a sense of unease has crept in, with Kumar working to strengthen his position by actively wooing leaders from the RJD and tying up with Manjhi.
The JD(U) has also made it clear that it will not hold any seat-sharing talks with the LJP, as its ties have been traditionally with the BJP.
The Election Commission is likely to announce the schedule for the Bihar polls sometime this month. Polls to the 243-seat assembly are likely to be held in October-November.
