Sher Bahadur Deuba has been appointed as the next prime minister of Nepal. Deuba's appointment came after Nepal's Supreme Court approved his claim to the premiership, replacing incumbent KP Sharma Oli.
According to the Nepalese constitution, Deuba, who is also the Nepalese Congress chief, will be given 30 days to prove to his majority in the House to survive as prime minister for the remaining term of Parliament.

This is the fifth time that the 74-year-old Deuba will be holding the post of prime minister in Nepal.

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli , in his address on International Yoga Day on Monday, claimed that yoga originated in Nepal and not in India. He said when yoga was discovered, there was no country like India, and instead there were just several fringe states.
Oli went on to say that due credit had not been given to the sages who discovered yoga.
He however admitted that it was India that made the practice famous internationally.
Earlier, Oli courted controversy when he said in July 2020 that Hindu god Ram was born in Madi area or Ayodhyapuri in Nepal's Chitwan district and not in India's Ayodhya.

KP Sharma&nbsp;Oli&nbsp;on Thursday was reappointed as Nepal's Prime Minister as the opposition party failed to oust Oli&nbsp;to form a new government. The 69-year-old CPN-UML&nbsp;chairman who lost a crucial trust vote in the parliament earlier this week was reinstated as PM by Nepal President, Bidya&nbsp;Devi&nbsp;Bhandari. She will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Oli&nbsp;at a ceremony at Shital&nbsp;Niwas&nbsp;on Friday. In a statement released by President's office, it was revealed that no 2 parties or more showed the intent of forming a coalition government by the deadline, which expired on 9 PM, Thursday. Bhandari&nbsp;had on Monday asked the opposition parties to come up with majority support in the parliament by Thursday&nbsp;to form the new govt.
