Even though a treadmill is a great exercising tool which strengthens the calf muscles and burns calories, people in the age group of 55 to 60 might suffer knee and ankle injuries while running on it.&nbsp;
Experts suggest when we run on the ground, the energy flows from the body to the ground, but in case of a treadmill, the flow of energy is from the machine to the leg. With age cartilages get weakened and can be damaged while running on a treadmill.&nbsp;
Therefore, It is recommended to brisk walk on a treadmill rather than running on it as it could aggravate pain and swelling of knees and ankles. &nbsp; &nbsp;
