Future Enterprises Ltd (FEL) has defaulted on payment of Rs 19.16 crore to Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank and Union Bank of India under the one-time restructuring plan.
This is the second default by FEL this month.
The due date for payment of Rs 19.16 crore was March 28, FEL said in a regulatory filing.
"The company was not able to discharge the aforesaid obligations to respective banks/lenders, on due date," it said.
On March 25, the Future Group firm had informed about defaulting on repayment of Rs 93.99 crore to Punjab National Bank and Canara Bank under the OTR (One Time Restructuring Plan). The deadline for the repayment was March 23.
The group's leading company Future Retail Ltd defaulted on payment of Rs 3,494.56 crore to banks in January under the OTR plan.
FEL is a part of Rs 24,713 crore deal announced by the Future Group in August 2020, under which it is to sell 19 companies operating in retail, wholesale, logistics and warehousing assets to Reliance Retail.
All 19 companies would be consolidated into one entity -- FEL -- and then transferred to Reliance.
In April, Future Group companies will be conducting meetings of their respective shareholders and creditors between April 20 to April 23, 2022 to seek their approval for the Rs 24,713 crore deal

After getting use to smart phones and cars, now it's time to get ready for smart bazaars!
Mukesh Ambani owns Reliance Retail has finalised a new retail store brand, Smart Bazaar, for the locations where the Future Group's Big Bazaar outlets used to operate this month. 
According to report by ET, smart bazaar will be focusing majorly on apparel and general merchandise. It will be different from the existing Reliance Retail's Smart supermarkets and will more be in line with the functioning of Big Bazaar so that consumers can feel connected. 
Further, the retail unit of Reliance Industries is working on opening its own stores in around 950 properties it had sub-leased to the Future Group but took possession back citing non-payment of rent.
The move comes days after Future group on March 7 and 8 received termination notices for 947 stores, which it had sub-leased from Reliance entities.
In August 2020, Reliance Retail had agreed to take over the retail and logistics business of the Future group for Rs 24,713 crore.

Sachin Bansal, co-founder of e-commerce giant&nbsp;Flipkart, is reportedly in talks with&nbsp;Kishore Biyani's Future Group&nbsp;to buy out its life insurance JV arm Future Generali India Life Insurance Co. Ltd.&nbsp;
Bansal's financial services startup Navi Technologies is likely to acquire the&nbsp;Future Group's insurance firm for Rs 1,400-1,500 crore, say reports.
The deal is in a formal proposal stage and is likely to be announced soon. The embedded value of Future Generali Life is estimated to be around Rs 800 crore and a multiple of 1.5-2 times, which seems to be a decent valuation as per the industry standards, according to a report in Mint.
