Kohli Special at MCG India vs Pakistan at the mighty MCG, it doesn't get bigger than that. Chasing 160 for victory in their opening T20 World Cup encounter, the Men in Blue were down and out at 31/4. But cometh the hour, cometh the man. When all hope was lost, India's King Kohli once again single-handedly lifted 1.2 billion Indians out of despair with a stunning 82*. His knock, the best of his star-studded career, saw his side win on the final ball with 90,000 at the 'G' witnessing a true spectacle.
Golden Man with Golden Arm How can Neeraj Chopra not be on this list? After all, he had another unbelievable year, collecting new records on the global stage. While he couldn't defend his Commonwealth Games crown due to injury, the Olympic Champion became only the second Indian and the first Indian male to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships. To add to his silver in Oregon, Neeraj also became the first Indian to win the Diamond League title in September, capping off another year where India's golden man with the golden arm shone through.
The Historic Firsts at CWG&nbsp; While there were some incredible performances from the wrestlers, weightlifters, and boxers, there were a few achievements at the Commonwealth Games that deserve a special spotlight. 2-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu, adding to the plethora of her medals, finally added that elusive CWG Gold to her cabinet. Eldhose Paul &amp; Abdulla Aboobacker made history by taking home Gold &amp; Silver respectively in the men's triple jump event. The women's cricket team too won the silver in the very first full-fledged edition of the sport at the Commonwealth Games. But it was the Women's Lawn Bowls team that exceeded all expectations, with the quartet of Lovely Choubey, Pinky, Rupa Rani Tirkey, and Nayanmoni Saikia clinching an unexpected Gold, India's first-ever medal in the sport. &nbsp;
BCCI's Equal Pay Policy In a landmark move, the BCCI announced pay parity for its women cricketers, with secretary Jay Shah announcing that all women cricketers contracted with the board will be paid the same match fee as their male counterparts across the three formats. The decision earned praise from all quarters, with cricketers, sportspersons, and celebrities from all walks of life and other countries hailing the move from the Indian cricket board.

Boxer Sagar Ahlawat beat his Nigerian opponent 5-0 via a unanimous decision to enter the final of the men's over 92kg category. With that he has assured at least a silver for himself.
However, Mohammed Hussamuddin and Rohit Tokas had to settle for a bronze each in the men's 57 kg featherweight and 67 kg category respectively. While Hussamuddin lost his semifinal 1-4, Rohit went down 2-3 in quarters.
TABLE TENNIS
India's Mixed Doubles pair of Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula won a nail-biter against Nicholas Lum and Minhyung Jee 3-2 to of Australia to book a spot in the final.
However, an already bad CWG 2022 turned worse for Manika Batra as the ace Indian paddler and her partner Diya Parag lost their Women's Doubles quarte-final match. The pair of Sreeja Akula and Reeth Tennison also bowed out after losing in the quarter-final.
BADMINTON
India's Lakshya Sen hardly broke a sweat as he beat Marutius' Julien Georges Paul 21-12, 21-11 to book a place in the Men's Singles semifinals.
India's Kidambi Srikanth fought hard as he beat England's Toby Penty 21-19, 21-17 to reach the Men's Singles semifinals.
It was a tough outing for PV Sindhu as she had to grind it hard for advance to the semi-final. The 2-time Olympic medallist beat Malaysia's Goh Wei Jin 19-21, 21-14, 21-18 to stay alive. However, Aakarshi Kashyap's run came to an end in the quarterfinals.
SQUASH
The Indian mixed doubles pair of Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal suffered a 0-2 loss to New Zealand's Joelle King and Paul Coll in the semifinals. They will now play for the bronze medal on Sunday.

HS Prannoy scripted history for India as he propelled his nation to the first-ever Thomas Cup final after beating Denmark on a pulsating Friday evening in Bangkok Thailand. Prannoy stunned Denmark's Rasmus Gemke by 3-2 to make it to the first final in the 73-year-history of the prestigious team tournament. Apart from Prannoy, World Championships silver medalist Kidambi Srikanth, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also came back with victories in the thrilling Thomas Cup semifinal tie against Denmark. While Prannoy defeated the Wolrd no. 13 by 13-21, 21-9, 21-12, India's top-ranked doubles pairing of Rankireddy and Shetty won the first doubles match of the tie to make it 1-1 and Srikanth defeated All England Champion Anders Antonsen by 21-18, 12-21, 21-15.India will now face 14-time holders and defending champions Indonesia on Sunday.
