In a separate tweet, Darshan expressed his gratitude to Kiccha Sudeep who had come out in his support and penned a lengthy statement on Twitter.
Sudeep condemned the incident by calling it &lsquo;very disturbing&rsquo;.
A miscreant, who was allegedly a Puneeth Rajkumar fan, hurled a slipper at Darshan while he was addressing his fans in Hospet. The actual reason for the outrage is unknown, but Darshan&rsquo;s recent comments on &lsquo;Goddess of Luck&rsquo; during an interview sparked huge outrage. Several people called out his misogynistic views towards women.

During the promotion of his upcoming film &lsquo;Kranti&rsquo; at Hosapete, Karnataka, a fan hurled a slipper at him. Now, Kichcha Sudeep has penned a long note on Twitter saying that 'rebellion isn't always an answer'
&lsquo;Our land, language and culture is all about love &amp; respect. Every problem has a solution, and every solution has multiple ways of being solved. Each and every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, and any problem can be solved in a manner that is pleasant and calm,&rsquo; he wrote.
He also questioned the behaviour of the crowd at the event and said, &lsquo;The video I saw was very disturbing. There were many others and the leading lady of the film standing there as well who were just a part of the event and had nothing to do with the rage that was prevailing at that time. Humiliating them publicly brings about questions as to are we Kannadigas known for these unjustified reactions. Is this kind of outburst even an option?&rsquo;
He further added, &lsquo;As far as Darshan is concerned, I agree there may have been a situation that isn't so pleasant between him and Puneeth fans. But is this reaction Puneeth himself would have appreciated and supported? An answer to this is something that probably each of his beloved fans know.&rsquo;
Concluding his note, Sudeep apologised if he has hurt anyone&rsquo;s feelings with his words and requested everyone to spread love and respect.
For the unversed, in a video interview, Darshan said, &lsquo;Goddess of Luck doesn't knock on the door always. When she knocks, grab her, drag her into your bedroom and strip her naked. If you give her clothes, she will go out.&rsquo;
After the video surfaced online, many called him out for his sexist and misogynistic comments.

Kiccha Sudeep made headlines a few months ago for his online spat with Ajay Devgn over Hindi and its status as the 'national language.' In a recent interaction with Hindustan Times, the actor was asked if he and Ajay Devgn are ‘friends’ after their Twitter spat, to which Sudeep replied that Ajay is a gentleman and there was 100% a small misinterpretation. 
"He tweeted to me but he was very sweet enough to retweet back and say ‘I got my answer Sudeep, thanks for clearing it up’,” he told the publication.  
Ajay Devgn's first tweet to Sudeep was in Hindi, stating that it will always be our national language and mother tongue. Sudeep responded to his tweet in English and said that if he had tweeted in Kannada, Ajay would have likely not understood him. He further added that his statement wasn't to 'hurt, provoke or start a debate.'Sudeep garnered a lot of support from fans and celebrities on this matter and many said that Ajay should have stuck to English for the conversation. 
Addressing the issue, Sudeep said, “I am very sure the man I know would never tweet in Hindi. It’s definitely a third-person’s idea behind it. I do not want to know or conclude on that."
Sudeep reiterated that the war of words on Twitter happened due to a misunderstanding and he was only talking about Hindi's position as a dominant language. He mentioned that he doesn't have a fight against Hindi and his simple point was that pan-India shouldn't always mean Hindi. 
"Just because you are making Hindi films does not automatically make it pan-India. Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Punjabi, Tamil films are also becoming pan-India now. This is what I wanted to say. The debate at the time was that it’s our national language. It’s not but we love it still. He may be coming from there but this language belongs to us also. It belongs to us as much as it belongs to you,” he said. 
Kiccha Sudeep is gearing up for his upcoming Kannada film 'Vikrant Rona' which will also release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and is scheduled to release on July 28.
