At least three people were killed and six others injured in a suicide blast inside a mosque in Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, police said.
The explosion took place at the mosque in Hangu district, Doaba Police Station SHO Shahraz Khan said.
The blast occurred during the Juma prayers, he said, adding that 30 to 40 worshippers were there in the mosque at the time of the explosion.
Police said they believed it to be a suicide blast.
At least three people were killed and six others injured in the blast, police said.
&ldquo;The roof of the mosque caved in due to the impact of the explosion,&rdquo; Hangu District Police Officer Nisar Ahmed was quoted as saying in a report in the Dawn newspaper.
The blast came a few hours after at least 52 people were killed and over 50 injured in a suicide blast near Madina Mosque on Al Falah Road in restive Balochistan province's Mastung district.

At least 20 people were killed and 50 others injured in a blast at an Islamic political party's meeting in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday, according to a media report.
The explosion took place at the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers' convention in Bajaur&rsquo;s Khar, Geo News quoted police as saying.
The police said that about 50 people were injured and have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area.
Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Faizi told the Dawn newspaper that five ambulances had reached the site.

The militants of the Azahruddin group of the TTP were intercepted by the CTD when they were fleeing towards the adjoining Tank district, and in the ensuing gun battle, 12 of them were gunned down.
Weapons, ammunition, and Afghan currency were recovered from the possession of those killed, they said.
The operation, based on prior intelligence, comes amidst the government's recent decision to step up operations against terror groups like the TTP.
Pakistan has been hit by a wave of terrorism, mostly in the country's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, but also in Balochistan and the Punjab town of Mianwali, which borders the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
On January 30, a Taliban suicide bomber blew himself up during the afternoon prayers at a well-guarded mosque in Peshawar, killing 101 people and injuring more than 200 others.
The Azahruddin group of the TTP has been active in the area against the police and has conducted numerous attacks against law enforcers. In December 2022, it killed six police officials in the district.
The TTP, set up as an umbrella group of several militant outfits in 2007, called off a ceasefire with the federal government and ordered its militants to stage terrorist attacks across the country.
The group, which is believed to be close to Al-Qaeda, has been blamed for several deadly attacks across Pakistan, including an attack on army headquarters in 2009, assaults on military bases, and the 2008 bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad.
In 2014, the Pakistani Taliban stormed the Army Public School (APS) in the northwestern city of Peshawar, killing at least 150 people, including 131 students. The attack sent shockwaves across the world and was widely condemned.

The body of one policeman killed in the shooting has been shifted to a local hospital in Bannu.
Akram Khan Durrani, a former chief minister of the province, and sitting provincial minister Malik Shah Muhammad have reached Bannu to initiate talks with the militants.
Both Durrani and Muhammad hail from Bannu.
Militants have demanded the security forces to provide them with a helicopter to reach Afghanistan safely.

&ldquo;They are in control of the building and we have cordoned off the entire Bannu cantonment,&rdquo; he added.
The Internet services in the Bannu cantonment have been suspended.
In a video, released by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan militants from inside the CTD compound claimed that nine police personnel were in their captivity and demanded safe passage to Afghanistan by air in exchange for the release of the hostages.

Positivity rate is the percentage of positive results out of the total number of tests sampled.
Mini smart lockdowns have been imposed in Karachi, Islamabad and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
"Instructions have been issued to administrations across the country to ensure that precautionary measures are followed. But like in the past, success is impossible without the cooperation of the people," he said in the tweet.
Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood also asked people to follow guidelines and avoid big gatherings.
"Large public gatherings must not take place. These alone can unleash a second wave," he said.
According to the health ministry, Punjab province on Sunday confirmed 203 new COVID-19 cases. It was for the first time since August 15 that Punjab recorded more than 200 cases.
Sindh reported 140,131 cases, Punjab 100,687, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 38,329, Islamabad 17,296, Balochistan 15,520, Gilgit-Baltistan 3,924 and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir 3,045 cases.
The National Command and Control Centre (NCOC), the nerve centre to synergise and articulate unified national effort against COVID-19, on Thursday imposed restrictions on large-scale public gatherings in marriage halls after rise in the COVID-19 infections in recent weeks.
The restrictions have come ahead of a big rally announced by the opposition parties, under the banner Pakistan Democratic Movement, on October 16 at Gujranwala in Punjab province against the Imran Khan-led government.
However, the Opposition leaders have rejected the call to avoid big rallies.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said educational institutions will reopen from September 15 and the provinces have been told to make arrangements accordingly.
Khan chaired a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC), the apex body to take key decisions related to COVID-19. The meeting reviewed the overall situation and expressed satisfaction, according to an official statement.

Prime Minister Khan reiterated that it was time to restart educational activities but another high-level meeting will be held on September 7 to take the final decision, the statement said.
Initially high schools, colleges and universities will be reopened, officials said, adding that primary and kindergarten-level schools will not be opened in the initial phase.&nbsp;
