Former Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday took a jibe at Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda over his remarks that last time both he and his son Deepender lost the Lok Sabha polls as both had entered the poll arena.
Khattar said Hooda's worry is that if he enters the contest this time too then his son will lose as he will not get the required support from him.
He expressed confidence of the BJP winning all the 10 Lok Sabha seats from the state this time too like in 2019.
When asked why he does not want to fight the Lok Sabha polls, Hooda had told reporters here on Friday that his son Deepender will be contesting and the party is deciding on his candidature from Rohtak.
When the Congress leader was asked that in 2019 both he and Deepender had contested, Hooda had said in a lighter vein, "Pichhli baar lade they jabi toh haar gaye dono (last time both of us contested that is why we both lost)." Had he not fought last time, they would not have lost the Rohtak seat, Hooda had said.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Hooda had lost from Sonipat while Deepender had failed to retain his Rohtak seat.

The Haryana Assembly website launched the Digital Legislative Business Module, making records from 1966 till date accessible in digital format.

During the budget session of Haryana Assembly on Feb 27, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the digitization of records for all departments.
He stated that digital record rooms would be established at the headquarters and district levels.
The initiative aims to make all department records digital. The current budget for 2024-25 does not include provisions for this, but future budgets are expected to address the need.
Khattar highlighted the successful digitization of revenue department records from Kaithal district.

Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal while addressing a Jan Samvad at Ward 11, Model Town, karnal on Sunday said that &lsquo;Vridh Seva Ashrams&rsquo; will be opened in every district, having an accommodation facility of 50 senior citizens in each Ashram.&nbsp;
He said that the city E-bus service will commence in Karnal within three months. Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, 50,000 plots will be allocated in the first phase in the state. The portal for applications will be opened very soon said Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister further said that the Vridh Seva Ashram (elderly care home) will provide accommodation and food arrangements for the underprivileged and poor elderly. Even financially stable senior citizens, willing to stay in these homes, will need to make a certain contribution.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also distributed old-age pension certificates to eight beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister said that the City E-bus service in Karnal will commence within three months. The same has been started in Panipat and will start in Yamunanagar from Monday, he said.
He emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is genuinely concerned about the common man and has initiated the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for the poor. The amount for the repair of houses for the poor has been increased from Rs. 31,000 to 80,000.
The Chief Minister said that the benefits of central and state government welfare schemes are reaching to the needy people.
The Chief Minister informed that the Chirayu Haryana Yojana has been integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Initially, 15.5 lakh people were eligible under the Ayushman Yojana, which has now increased to 34 lakh.&nbsp;

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya will bring the same kind of joy that people felt when Lord Ram returned home after defeating Ravan.

"The practice of offering namaz here (Gurgaon) in open spaces will not be tolerated...But we all will sit to find an amicable solution," the chief minister told reporters in Gurgaon, responding to a question on the objections raised by several right-wing outfits to offering 'namaz' in open spaces in the NCR city.
"Everyone should get the facility (to offer prayers), but nobody should infringe on others’ rights. It will not be allowed," Khattar said.
On withdrawing the district administration's decision to earmark some places for holding prayers in open spaces, he said, "We have told the police and the Deputy Commissioner that this issue has to be resolved…. If somebody offers namaz, holds paaths at one's place we have no objection to that.
"Religious places are built for this very purpose that people go there and offer prayers. Such programmes should not be held in open spaces," he said.
"Confrontation should be avoided by offering namaz in open spaces. We will also not allow confrontation (to build between two sides)," he said.

Chandigarh, PTI: The ruling BJP on Thursday named party leader and Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt as its candidate for the bypoll to the Baroda assembly constituency.
According to a party statement, the wrestler-turned-politician will contest the November 3 bypoll from Baroda seat in Sonipat.
The last date to file nomination for the bypoll is Friday.
The bye-election was necessitated due to the demise of Congress MLA Shri Krishan Hooda in April. In the 2019 assembly polls, Dutt had lost to Hooda from the seat.
Till about midnight, the Congress was yet to announce its candidate for the seat.
Earlier in the morning, some sports personalities including BJP leader Babita Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Geeta Phogat and&nbsp;Dutt had met Chief Minister M L Khattar in Delhi.
The sportspersons batted for&nbsp;Dutt's candidature for the Baroda seat, which the saffron party has never won.
Khattar earlier said that the party''s state unit had discussed 25 names, but shortlisted four and sent it to the party high command.
The party on Thursday evening announced&nbsp;Dutt's name for the seat.
The wrestler-turned-politician, who hails from Bhainswal Kalan village in Sonipat district, had joined the BJP in 2019 ahead of the state assembly polls.
