India has condemned the security breach during External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar&rsquo;s UK visit, calling out the provocative actions of separatist groups. The MEA urged the UK to uphold its diplomatic obligations and ensure the safety of Indian officials.

India on Thursday strongly condemned the security breach during External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's visit to the UK, criticizing the "provocative activities" of separatists and extremists.&nbsp;
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed disapproval over the misuse of democratic freedoms by these elements and urged the host government to uphold its diplomatic responsibilities.
"We have seen the footage of a breach of security during the visit of EAM to the UK. We condemn the provocative activities of this small group of separatists and extremists. We deplore the misuse of democratic freedoms by such elements. We expect the host government in such cases to fully live up to their diplomatic obligations," an MEA spokesperson stated.
The security breach occurred when pro-Khalistan protestors gathered outside Chatham House in London, where Jaishankar was participating in a discussion. The demonstrators held flags, used loudspeakers, and chanted slogans as the event took place inside.&nbsp;
Jaishankar's conversation with Bronwen Maddox, Director and Chief Executive of Chatham House, focused on India's foreign policy, regional dynamics, and global economic challenges.
This is not the first instance of such activities in the UK. In January, a group of pro-Khalistan extremists staged a protest outside the Indian High Commission in London. They had previously disrupted the screening of Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency in Harrow.&nbsp;
Addressing the disruptions, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, "We consistently raise concerns with the UK Government regarding incidents of violent protest and intimidation by anti-India elements. Freedom of speech and expression cannot be applied selectively, and those obstructing it must be held accountable."
He further emphasized, "We hope that the UK side will take appropriate action against those responsible. Our High Commission in London remains in regular communication with our community members for their safety and welfare. We expect the UK side to take strong appropriate action in this matter."
Notably, in 2023, the Indian High Commission in London was attacked by Khalistani supporters. According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), these attacks were carried out in retaliation for Punjab police's crackdown on Amritpal Singh, Chief of Waris Punjab De.&nbsp;
The NIA alleged that the perpetrators aimed to influence actions against the separatist outfit and its leader.

In a significant development, four Indian nationals charged in the 2023 murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a prominent Khalistani leader, have been granted bail by a Canadian court. The accused&mdash;Karan Brar, Amandeep Singh, Kamalpreet Singh, and Karanpreet Singh&mdash;were initially arrested on charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The case has now been moved to the British Columbia Supreme Court, with the next hearing scheduled for February 11. According to the reports, there have been delays in presenting evidence by the prosecution during preliminary hearings, which critics argue could undermine Canada&rsquo;s stance on the matter. These delays, combined with the lack of substantial evidence, have raised questions about the progress of the case.
Court documents reviewed by India Today revealed that all four accused were released under a "stay of proceedings" while awaiting trial. The status of the defendants was marked as 'N' in court records, suggesting that they are not currently in custody and could be released under specific conditions.
The murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was designated a terrorist by India&rsquo;s National Investigation Agency in 2020, has strained diplomatic relations between India and Canada. Nijjar was killed outside a Gurdwara in Surrey, Canada, in June 2023.
Canadian authorities arrested Karanpreet Singh (28), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karan Brar (22) in May 2023, with Amandeep Singh (22) arrested shortly after. The reports indicate that tensions escalated further when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a statement in Parliament suggesting "credible allegations" linking India to the killing. India strongly denied these claims, calling them politically motivated and accusing Canada of providing space for extremist elements.

Three terror suspects allegedly involved in the grenade attack in Gurdaspur were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police in Pilibhit early Monday, with Punjab's Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav terming it as a major breakthrough against Pakistan-sponsored Khalistan Zindabad Force module.

The accused were identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), all residents of Punjab's Gurdaspur.
The encounter took place in the Puranpur area of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh.

"The three sustained serious injuries in the encounter and were immediately rushed to CHC Puranpur for treatment," he said.
The ADG told PTI that the three suspects later succumbed to their injuries.
Two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and a huge cache of ammunition were seized from them, he said.

"The encounter has taken place in the jurisdiction of PS Puranpur, Pilibhit, between the joint police teams of Pilibhit &amp; Punjab and the three module members are involved in the grenade attack on a police post in Gurdaspur.
The DGP said investigations are underway to unveil the entire terror module.
