In an emotional video message, the royal reflected on her difficult journey and shared plans to keep a light schedule of public engagements for the rest of the year.
&lsquo;As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,&rsquo; she said in a personal message released by her office.
&lsquo;The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown,&rsquo; she continued.
&lsquo;The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,&rsquo; she said.
&lsquo;With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved,&rsquo; she said.
&lsquo;Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life,&rsquo; Kate continued.
She concluded her video message by saying, &lsquo;To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey &ndash; I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.&rsquo;

The private hospital in central London, The London Clinic, where the 42-year-old was treated in January is said to have launched its own investigation into the claims. According to a report in the &lsquo;Daily Mirror&rsquo;, at least one member of staff at the hospital had allegedly tried to access Princess Kate&rsquo;s medical notes.
"We can confirm that we have received a breach report and are assessing the information provided," said a spokesperson for the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
The hospital reportedly contacted Kensington Palace, the Prince and Princess of Wales&rsquo; office, after the alleged breach came to light.
"This is a matter for the London Clinic," the palace said in a statement.
The private clinic has so far not commented directly on the allegations.
"We firmly believe that all our patients, no matter their status, deserve total privacy and confidentiality regarding their medical information," the London Clinic told the &lsquo;Mirror&rsquo; newspaper.

Kate Middleton, Britain&rsquo;s Princess of Wales, on Monday apologised for &ldquo;any confusion&rdquo; caused by a family portrait released by Kensington Palace of her posing with her three children.
The 42-year-old took to the official Palace X handle, formerly Twitter, to clarify that the discrepancies which led major photo agencies to withdraw the image from circulation were the result of some amateur editing by her.
The image released on Sunday, which is celebrated as Mother&rsquo;s Day in the UK, showed a smiling Kate with Princes George, 10, and Louis, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 8.
The palace said it had been taken by Prince William at Windsor Castle earlier in the week.
&ldquo;Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,&rdquo; reads the statement by Catherine, Princess of Wales, which is signed as C.
&ldquo;I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother&rsquo;s Day,&rdquo; it said.
Royal sources indicated that the picture was an amateur photograph taken by William, Prince of Wales, as the royal family wanted to offer an informal picture of the family together for Mother&rsquo;s Day.
They added that the princess made some "minor adjustments" to the image and that the family spent Mother&rsquo;s Day together and had a wonderful day.
Earlier, in a rare move, major international photo agencies issued a so-called &ldquo;kill&rdquo; notice on the official royal photograph over concerns it was "manipulated" by "the source".
The agencies, which have strict rules on digital manipulation of images, said they had spotted a number of inconsistencies in the photograph, including the alignment of Princess Charlotte's left hand. Several people also took to social media to point out that Kate Middleton was not wearing her wedding ring, which was unusual.
Kate, who has been on official leave as she recovers from an abdominal surgery in January, has not been seen in public for weeks which had led to some social media speculation over her recovery.
Kensington Palace, the office for the Prince and Princess of Wales, have repeatedly said that she is doing well and that health matters are private.
The release of the photograph was intended to allay fears of any serious health concerns, but it triggered its own set of speculation and conspiracy theories instead.
AFP said it had "come to light" that the image of the "Princess of Wales and her kids had been altered" and was therefore removed from its systems.
An AP statement read: &ldquo;The Associated Press initially published the photo, which was issued by Kensington Palace.
&ldquo;The AP later retracted the image because at closer inspection, it appears that the source had manipulated the image in a way that did not meet AP's photo standards. The photo shows an inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte's left hand." Reuters said it withdrew the picture following a "post-publication review" with a spokesperson saying the agency is "reviewing the matter".
Royal experts indicated that editing photographs after they have been taken for professional purposes is a common practice. Therefore, it was believed Kensington Palace may have only been trying to improve the photograph if it was indeed altered.
Meanwhile, it is unlikely to quell social media rumours over the health of the Princess of Wales as details of her medical condition have not been released by the palace except to say it is not cancer-related. Kate is not expected to return to official royal duties until after Easter next month as she recuperates.

The photo of Kate in a chair surrounded by her three children was credited to her husband, William, Prince of Wales and heir to the throne, and was said to have been taken earlier in the week in Windsor.
&ldquo;Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months,&rdquo; Kate said on social media. &ldquo;Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day.&rdquo; AP initially published the photo, which was issued by Kensington Palace. But AP later retracted the image because at closer inspection, it appeared the source had manipulated the image in a way that did not meet AP's photo standards. For instance, the photo shows an inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte's left hand.
The Kensington Palace media office is not open on weekends and a voicemail left for a spokesperson was not immediately returned.
The release of the photo followed weeks of gossip on social media about what had happened to Kate since she left a hospital Jan. 29 after a nearly two-week stay following planned surgery. She hadn't been seen publicly since Christmas Day.
The royal family has been under more scrutiny than usual in recent weeks, because both Kate and King Charles III can't carry out their usual public duties due to health problems.
Royal officials say Charles is undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer, which was discovered during treatment for an enlarged prostate. The monarch has canceled all his public engagements while he receives treatment, though he has been photographed walking to church and meeting privately with government officials and dignitaries.
Kate, 42, underwent surgery Jan. 16 and her condition and the reason for the surgery have not been revealed, though Kensington Palace, Prince William and Kate's office said it was not cancer-related.
Although the palace initially said that it would only provide significant updates and that she would not return to royal duties before Easter &mdash; March 31 this year &mdash; it followed up with a statement last month amid the rumors and conspiracy theories by saying she was doing well and reiterating its previous statement.
&ldquo;Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess' recovery and we'd only be providing significant updates,&rdquo; the palace said Feb. 29. &ldquo;That guidance stands.&rdquo; At the time, royal aides told The Sun newspaper: &ldquo;We've seen the madness of social media and that is not going to change our strategy. There has been much on social media but the Princess has a right to privacy and asks the public to respect that.&rdquo; Further questions were raised last week when the British military appeared to jump the gun in announcing Kate would attend a Trooping the Color ceremony in June, apparently without consulting palace officials.
The appearance would have been her first major official duty since the surgery, but Kensington Palace didn't confirm any scheduled public events for Kate. It's up to palace officials, not government departments, to announce and confirm the royals' attendance at events.
The army later removed the reference to her attendance.
British media reported that the army did not seek approval from Kensington Palace before publishing details about Kate's appearance in June, and announced the event based on the expectation that Kate, in her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards, would inspect the troops this year at the annual military ceremony.
