Following this, the victim tried to stop the suspect driving a Hyundai Venue car. However, the suspect crushed him and fled.
The victim died during treatment. Police said that the suspect was identified and arrested.

He also laid the foundation stone for an All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) Satellite Centre in Kanpur.
Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh; SP Singh Baghel and Bharati Pravin Pawar, Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare, Union Health Ministry; Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Health, Health Education, Family Welfare and Mother and Child Care, Uttar Pradesh; Devendra Singh Bhole, Member of Parliament from Akbarpur, Kanpur and Neelima Katiyar, Member of Legislative Assembly from Kalyanpur, Kanpur were also present on the occasion.
Mandaviya said that, "this Super Specialty Block offering 12 super-specialty services to the people will help people to take these specialised services locally, saving their valuable time and resources". He further said that "AIISH Centre in Kanpur will be the first such state-of-the-art centre in North India which will not only train doctors but also provide care to people.

The children, aged between the ages of 6 and 16, are among the 180 thalassemia patients who receive blood transfusions at the centre.
According to Hindustan Times, Dr Arun Arya, the head of the paediatrics department, said that this is a cause for concern and shows the risks blood transfusion involves.
&ldquo;At the time of transfusion, the doctors should have [also] vaccinated the children against Hepatitis B,&rdquo; he added.

In a bizarre demonstration, Samajwadi Party MLA Amitabh Bajpai protested against the waterlogging issue in the city by sitting on a boat tied to the roof of his SUV.
The Arya Nagar MLA made the symbolic demonstration on Friday to bring the attention of the authorities to the frequent waterlogging on the roads in Kanpur.
Bajpai even urged the city's residents to use boats for commuting in case of water logging in the city and keep boats and life jackets handy for such situations.
The city traffic police, however, issued him a challan of Rs 2,000 for violating traffic rules, which the SP MLA confirmed to have deposited on Saturday.
Talking to PTI, Bajpai said he took to the streets to protest against the waterlogging issue and alleged corruption within the municipal corporation.
He placed a boat on the top of his SUV car and started his demonstration from Sarsaiyya Ghat here and crossed Bada Chauraha, Meston Road, Moolganj, Express Road, and Phoolbagh, the MLA added.
The prevalent waterlogging situation n the city has affected most of the pockets including VIP Road, Civil Lines, Babupurwa, Raipurwa, and Juhi Bridge where a delivery boy died allegedly after drowning in a waterlogged road.
The delivery agent, Charan Singh, drowned in a waterlogged underpass near the Juhi Bridge on the night of June 22. His body was recovered the next day along with his bike.

Kanpur Police have taken into custody a sweeper of a girl's hostel for allegedly making obscene videos of some of the girls staying there, a senior official said Friday.
The police action came after a NEET aspirant, staying at the Sai Niwas Girls Hostel, filed a complaint with the police, accusing the sweeper of making her obscene videos. Some other girls too accused him of their videos as well.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Kalyanpur, DK Shukla said the accused's mobile phone has been seized and sent for forensic analysis.
"A worker of Kanpur's Sai Niwas Girls Hostel was taken into custody after a NEET aspirant filed a complaint accusing him of making their videos. Ten-twelve other girls came along with her. The accused worked there for about eight years," Shukla told reporters.
He said the accused had been working at the hostel for about 8 years. "A case has also been registered and action shall be taken," he added.

In a bizarre incident, the family of an Income Tax department employee who died last year kept his body at home here for almost 18 months assuming that he was in a coma.
The man's wife, who appears to be mentally unstable, sprinkled 'gangajal' on his highly decomposed body every morning, hoping that it would help him come out of the coma, official on Friday said.
In a statement, the Kanpur police said Dixit's death certificate issued by a private hospital stated that he died due to sudden cardiac respiratory syndrome on April 22, 2021.
Vimlesh Dixit, who worked in the Income Tax department, died in April last year but his family was reluctant to perform his last rites because they believed he was in a coma, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Alok Ranjan said.
"I was informed by Kanpur's Income Tax officials, who requested that the matter be investigated as the family pension files hadn't moved an inch," he said.
When a team of health officials along with policemen and the magistrate reached Dixit's house in the Rawatpur area on Friday, his family members insisted that he was alive and in a coma, Ranjan said.
After much persuasion, the family members allowed the health team to take the body to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital, where medical tests declared him dead, he said.
The CMO said a three-member team has been constituted to look into the matter thoroughly and asked to submit its findings at the earliest.
Police said the body was found in a highly decomposed state.
Dixit's family had also told their neighbours that he was in a coma. His wife appears to be mentally unstable, an official said on condition of anonymity.
Neighbours told police that the family members were often seen taking oxygen cylinders home.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and order) Anand Prakash Tiwari said that the KDA has demolished a newly-constructed building owned by one Mohammad Ishtiyaq, who is said to be a close relative of prime accused Zafar Hayat Hashmi.
The building was in Swaroopnagar locality of Kanpur.
“There are reasons to believe that the investment has been made by the prime accused of the violence case,” Tiwari said, and claimed that the demolition was carried out in accordance with “norms and regulations.” A local court had on Friday approved 72 hours’ police remand of Hashmi along with Jawed Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Rahil, and Sufiyan. "The accused were taken into police custody following the court's order on Saturday morning and will remain in custody till Tuesday morning," said Tiwari.

A case has been filed against Kanpur Mayor Pramila Pandey for violating the secret ballot rule by sharing photographs and video as she voted during the third phase of assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. 
According to reports, she shared the pictures and videos on Whatsapp. 
District Magistrate Neha Pandey said that the pictures showing the Kanpur Mayor and BJP leader pressing the button on the EVM for a particular candidate is being seen as an attempt to influence voters.
Voting for 59 Assembly constituencies spread across 16 districts of Uttar Pradesh began on Sunday morning. This is the third phase of the Assembly polls in the state, where elections are to be held in seven rounds.
As many as 627 candidates are in the fray in this phase, in which over 2.15 crore people are eligible to vote.

At least six people were killed and over a dozen injured as an electric bus rammed into bystanders in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Monday.
Reports said the speeding bus lost control at Tat Mill crossing and hit several bystanders, three cars and many motorcycles. The bus then hit a traffic booth before coming to a halt after it smashed into a standing truck.
Police said the injured have been shifted to a hospital and some among them are critical. A manhunt has been launched for the driver of the bus who fled the scene.
Several politicians, including Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, offered their condolences to the families of the dead. President Ramnath Kovid also offered his condolences in a tweet.
