Nikkhil Advani&rsquo;s &lsquo;Kal Ho Naa Ho&rsquo; has completed 20 years since its release and on the occasion, Preity Zinta has shared a nostalgic moment from her popular movie on her Instagram.
To commemorate the occasion, the actor posted a clip from the film, featuring her co-star Shah Rukh Khan.
Reflecting on the film, Preity Zinta described it as the 'saddest, happy' movie in her career. She fondly recalled memories of Yash Johar, who, alongside his son Karan Johar, supported the film under their production banner, Dharma Productions.
Preity wrote, &lsquo;Kal Ho Naa Ho was the saddest happy film I did. Nothing can replace those memories and I will forever be grateful to Yash Uncle for making this incredible film. It was the last time he was on set. There will never be anyone like you Yash Uncle. You took a piece of my heart with you when you left. This film will forever remind me of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will forever love you.&rsquo;
During the filming of 'Kal Ho Naa Ho,' Yash Johar was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away in 2004.
The movie's storyline revolves around a man facing a terminal illness, much like Yash Johar's situation at the time. The narrative portrays his character falling in love with a girl while keeping his illness a secret. Additionally, the film featured Saif Ali Khan in a prominent role alongside the main cast.
Remembering Yash Johar, Karan Johar, in a heartfelt note, shared that this film was an emotional journey for him.
&lsquo;To bring such a stellar starcast together with a story that has a beating heart&hellip;it&rsquo;s all kudos to the entire cast and team behind the camera for making Kal Ho Naa Ho still beat strong and within everyone&rsquo;s hearts,&rsquo; he wrote.
&lsquo;For me, this was the last film that my father was a part of from the Dharma family&hellip;and it feels surreal to have his presence in every frame as I rewatch it even till today. Thank you papa, for guiding us through everything &amp; making stories that matter&hellip;and for always standing by what is right. I will always miss you,&rsquo; he further added about his father's last production.

As soon as Karan Johar shared the post, many fans took to the comments section to talk about how the film is etched in their memory. Abhishek Bachchan dropped a red heart emoji and Delnaaz Irani, who played Sweetu in the film, wrote, &lsquo;Thankyou for giving me sweetu and making me a part of this wonderful journey.&rsquo;
For the unversed, Karan Johar had originally wanted to cast Kareena Kapoor in Naina&rsquo;s role but it later went to Preity Zinta.
&lsquo;Kal Ho Naa Ho&rsquo; won two National Film Awards, eight Filmfare Awards, thirteen International Indian Film Academy Awards, six Producers Guild Film Awards, three Screen Awards, and two Zee Cine Awards in 2004.
