Manish Sisodia sent to 14-day judicial custody in Excise policy case

On Tuesday, the special court deferred the hearing to March 25 on the bail plea of Sisodia in the main case being probed by the CBI.

A Delhi court on Wednesday sent former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to 14-day judicial custody in a money laundering case arising out of the excise policy matter.
Special Judge M K Nagpal sent the senior AAP leader to jail till April 5 after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) produced him on conclusion of his custodial interrogation in the matter.
The anti-money laundering probe agency has so far quizzed Sisodia for seven days in its custody in the matter.
On Tuesday, the special court deferred the hearing to March 25 on the bail plea of Sisodia in the main case being probed by the CBI.
The CBI on February 26 arrested Sisodia in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22.

The ED arrested Sisodia on March 9 in Tihar jail, where he was lodged in connection with the case being probed by the CBI.

Nikki Yadav murder case: accused Sahil Gehlot sent to 12-day judicial custody

Earlier on Monday, a court had extended the police custody of Gehlot (24) by two days, while the other five co-accused were remanded in 14-day judicial custody.

A metropolitan court in Delhi on Wednesday remanded Sahil Gehlot, accused of killing his girlfriend Nikki Yadav and stuffing her body into a fridge, to 12-day judicial custody.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Archana Beniwal passed the order.
Earlier on Monday, a court had extended the police custody of Gehlot (24) by two days, while other five co-accused were remanded in 14-day judicial custody.
All accused will now be produced in court on March 6.
Gehlot allegedly killed Yadav, stuffed her body inside a refrigerator of his dhaba in southwest Delhi, and went off to marry another woman. The incident had come to light on February 14, Valentine's Day, four days after the crime.
Gehlot's two cousins and two friends are among those arrested.
During the investigation, it came to light that Gehlot had secretly married Yadav in October 2020 and the victim was asking the accused to get a social sanction for the marriage, according to the police.

Woman dragged by car: six accused sent to 14-day judicial custody

The prosecution said it was found during their custodial interrogation that the accused were aware of the victim's body being dragged under the wheels.

A Delhi court on Monday sent six accused in the case involving the death of a 20-year-old woman, who had got trapped in the underside of a car and killed, to 14 days' judicial custody.
"14 days judicial custody granted," Metropolitan Magistrate Sanya Dalal said.
The prosecution said it was found during their custodial interrogation that the accused were aware of the victim's body being dragged under the wheels.
The additional public prosecutor, however, did not disclose the identity of the two accused who got down from the car to inspect what was under the wheels.
The investigating officer informed the court that CCTV footages were being obtained, the route taken by the car was being established, and around 20 witnesses had recorded their statements.
He also said a new witness, who was around 100 metres from the spot of the accident, has joined the investigation.
Police had initially arrested Deepak Khanna (26), Amit Khanna (25), Krishan (27), Mithun (26), and Manoj Mittal in the case last Monday. &nbsp;On expiry of their three-day police custody, the court extended their custodial interrogation by four days on Thursday.
Later, they zeroed in on Ashutosh, who was arrested on Friday, and remanded in police custody for three days.
Another accused Ankush Khanna surrendered before the police on Friday and he was granted bail on Saturday. &nbsp;Anjali Singh, 20, was killed in the early hours of the New Year after her scooter was hit by a car which dragged her for 12 km from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala.

Money laundering case: Mumbai court extends Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut's judicial custody till Sep 5

Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 1 in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl (row tenement) in suburban Goregaon.&nbsp;

A special court in Mumbai on Monday extended the judicial custody of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut till September 5 in a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of a Mumbai 'chawl'.
Raut, 60, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 1 in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl (row tenement) in suburban Goregaon.
After being in the ED's custody initially, the Sena leader was sent to judicial custody for 14 days on August 8.
On Monday, special Judge M G Deshpande, hearing cases related to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), extended Raut's custody till August 30.
The ED told the court that its probe into the case was still on.
The ED's investigation pertains to alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra 'chawl' and related financial transactions involving Raut's wife and associates.
Raut, a close aide of Shiv Sena president and former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, has denied any wrongdoing and called the ED case against him "false".

Special NIA Court sent KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi to 14 days Judicial Custody 

The Special NIA Court on Thursday sent Peasant Leader Akhil Gogoi to 14 days Judicial Custody. 
As per reports, NIA demanded an extension of Gogoi’s custody for more 10 days; however, the plea was rejected by the court.
KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi was presented before Special NIA Court on Thursday.
Earlier, a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a search operation at the residence of peasant leader and RTI activist Akhil Gogoi in Guwahati.
