Jonathan Majors is &lsquo;heartbroken&rsquo; over the news that Robert Downey Jr.&rsquo;s Doctor Doom will replace Kang the Conqueror as the new villain in the next two &lsquo;Avengers&rsquo; movies.
Majors was dropped by Marvel in December 2023, the same day he was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault. His villain, Kang, was positioned as the new Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was slated to play a major role in &lsquo;Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.&rsquo; This film has now been scrapped and replaced by &lsquo;Avengers: Doomsday,&rsquo; starring Downey.
When asked if he was hurt by Marvel's decision, Majors admitted he was. &lsquo;Yeah, heartbroken, of course,&rsquo; he told TMZ. Commenting on Downey Jr. taking over as the MCU villain in the upcoming Avengers films, Majors said, &lsquo;I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.&rsquo;
The publication noted that Downey Jr. was given another opportunity despite his own legal troubles. Majors responded, &lsquo;I think it&rsquo;s fair that Mr. Downey is being met with patience, curiosity, and love &hellip; and [he&rsquo;s] being allowed to work [his] art and be creative at that level.&rsquo;
&lsquo;I didn&rsquo;t get that&hellip;&rsquo; Majors added.
The actor added that he would be open to making an MCU comeback if given a chance. &lsquo;Hell yeah! Hell yeah! I love him. I love Kang,&rsquo; he said.
&lsquo;If that&rsquo;s what the fans want, and that&rsquo;s what Marvel wants then let&rsquo;s roll. Hell yeah,&rsquo; Majors added.
What happened with Majors
Jonathan Majors was arrested in March 2023 after his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, accused him of assaulting her in a car. She reportedly took his phone to read a message from another woman, and during an attempt to retrieve it, Majors allegedly broke her middle finger and hit her.
What legal trouble did Downey Jr face?
In 1996, RDJ was arrested with heroin, cocaine, and an unloaded gun, resulting in a three-year probation. He faced multiple legal issues and rehab stints before being cleared of charges and taking on the role of Iron Man, which launched the MCU.
Downey Jr. exited the MCU in 2019 after &lsquo;Avengers: Endgame.&rsquo; Recently, it was announced that he will return to the MCU as Doctor Doom.

Actor Jonathan Majors has reportedly been found guilty by a New York jury. The charges against him involve assault and harassment of his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari during a domestic dispute.
The 'Marvel' franchise actor was found guilty of one count of third-degree reckless assault and a non-criminal charge of harassment as a violation. However, he was cleared of another assault charge and one count of aggravated harassment.
Majors is set to be sentenced on February 6. He faces up to a year in prison, but prosecutors have not indicated what sentence they plan to seek.
During the trial, prosecutors asserted that Jonathan Majors didn't hesitate to resort to physical violence against Jabbari. Allegedly, he twisted her right arm behind her back and delivered a blow to her head. Conversely, Majors' attorney countered these claims, labeling them as 'fake' and contending that Jabbari was the aggressor in the situation.
While Majors was present in the New York City courtroom, he opted not to testify. Reports from The New York Times highlighted Jabbari's testimony on December 5, stating that she recounted being assaulted by Majors in the backseat of a car during their dispute. Prosecutors purported that this incident occurred after Jabbari discovered a romantic text message sent to Majors on his phone.
&lsquo;We are gratified to see justice served by today&rsquo;s guilty verdict. Ms. Jabbari testified publicly and truthfully, even though reliving these traumatic events on the witness stand was obviously painful,&rsquo; Jabbari&rsquo;s attorneys said in a statement. &lsquo;We are grateful to the jurors and the Judge for their attention and patience, and to the Manhattan District Attorney&rsquo;s Office for their hard work and support,&rsquo; they added.
Shortly after the verdict, a spokesperson for Walt Disney-owned (DIS.N) Marvel said the studio had dropped the actor from future projects.

Marvel Studios and Walt Disney announced they won't continue projects with actor Jonathan Majors following his conviction for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Majors faced a swift downfall since his arrest on March 26 this year after a heated dispute with Jabbari in a chauffeured SUV. He was convicted on December 18 of third-degree assault and second-degree aggravated assault, out of the four charges brought against him by New York prosecutors.
Throughout the two-week trial, a Manhattan jury listened to four days of testimony from Jabbari. She recounted that the situation turned physical after she noticed romantic texts on Majors' phone. When she tried to take the device, Majors allegedly twisted her arm, causing &lsquo;excruciating pain,&rsquo; and struck her in the head, as per Jabbari's testimony to the jurors.
During the trial, surveillance footage presented to the Manhattan jury depicted Majors fleeing through lower Manhattan streets after grabbing the phone and leaving the vehicle, with Jabbari chasing him.
The duo initially met in 2021 on the set of Marvel's &lsquo;Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,&rsquo; where Jabbari worked as a movement coach while Majors portrayed the time-traveling villain, known as Kang the Conqueror. The film marked the start of an envisioned collaboration between Majors and Marvel, with plans for future projects, including the &lsquo;Loki&rsquo; series and &lsquo;Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,&rsquo; scheduled for May 2026.
However, reports suggest uncertainty regarding the future of the character Kang, whether recasting might occur (akin to previous instances in the Captain America series) or if Marvel will alter its direction altogether within the cinematic universe. Marvel has not commented on their association with Majors.
Majors, once seen as a rising star, gained recognition through films like &lsquo;The Last Black Man in San Francisco,&rsquo; &lsquo;Devotion,&rsquo; &lsquo;Lovecraft Country,&rsquo; &lsquo;The Harder They Fall,&rsquo; &lsquo;Da 5 Bloods,&rsquo; and &lsquo;Creed III.&rsquo; His film &lsquo;Magazine Dreams&rsquo; was scheduled for release, but Searchlight Pictures, a Disney-owned distributor, withdrew it from the release calendar ahead of the trial.
In the wake of these events, Majors has been dropped by his public relations firm, The Lede Company, and his managers at Entertainment 360. He is awaiting sentencing in February and could face up to a year in prison for the third-degree assault charge.
