Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as the infamous Clown Prince of Crime and Harley Quinn, the film debuted to shockingly poor reviews this month.
It only managed to snag $40 million domestically in its opening week, totaling a disappointing $121.1 million globally.
To break even, the film needs a staggering $450 million, but with its plummeting box office performance, that goal seems increasingly out of reach.
Reports from The Hollywood Reporter reveal that the sequel suffered an unprecedented 81% drop in ticket sales during its second week, marking the worst decline ever for a comic book movie.
Previously, &lsquo;The Marvels&rsquo; held the record with a 78% drop.
Currently, &lsquo;Joker: Folie a Deux&rsquo; stands at $165.3 million overall.
Meanwhile, &lsquo;Terrifier 3&rsquo; is dominating the domestic box office with a weekend full of curiosity and chaos. Cineverse and Icon Events' latest slasher installment exceeded expectations, raking in an estimated $18.2 million from 1,988 theaters.
In a distant second, &lsquo;The Wild Robot&rsquo; continues to shine for DreamWorks Animation and Universal. In its third weekend, the family-friendly flick is projected to earn another $13.4 million from 3,854 cinemas, bringing its domestic total to $83.7 million. It also secured an additional $24 million internationally, resulting in a global haul of $148.5 million.

On Valentine's Day, &lsquo;Joker: Folie &agrave; Deux&rsquo; director Todd Phillips treated fans with new images of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga from the film, offering an exciting glimpse into the highly anticipated sequel.
&lsquo;Hoping your day is full of love,&rsquo; wrote Todd, sharing the photos on his Instagram.
Joaquin reprises his role as the Joker, while Lady Gaga portrays Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn.
One image captures Gaga tenderly gazing into Joaquin's eyes, reciprocated by his subtle smile. In another, he romantically dips her on a terrace against a comic-style backdrop. The sole colour image, released by Todd, features Gaga in blue attire and Joaquin in his iconic suit.
Many Lady Gaga fans were happy to see her share pictures of herself making music, while the director also released stills from the movie on the same day.

Another commented that they&rsquo;ve &lsquo;prayed for times like this.&rsquo; One movie buff hoped that Joker 2 is a musical, completely disconnected from the first film, writing, &lsquo;I hope, not that I think this will happen, that Joker 2 is just completely disconnected from the first one. Just a completely different story packed into a lavish, over the top, campy musical. That would rule.&rsquo;
Though details about the movie remain unclear, the stills suggest it could be a musical taking place in and around Arkham Asylum, where Joker encounters Harley Quinn for the first time. The supporting cast includes Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey.
The first Joker film premiered in 2019 with great excitement and earned a whopping $1 billion globally, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever. During the shot, Gaga and Joaquin were also seen rushing to help a crew member after he fell over the railing. They helped to pull him back onto the ground and made sure he was uninjured before resuming filming.
Another video of Lady Gaga went viral recently in which she is seen kissing a girl outside the courtroom.
