The Bishnoi Tiger Force submitted a memorandum to the commissioner of police and the divisional forest officer.

Protests erupted in Rajasthan's Jodhpur after a video emerged on social media showing a 'chinkara' or Indian gazelle hanging from a tree, while a large group cooked and ate its meat.
Outraged members of the Bishnoi community and wildlife activists complained to police, officials said on 20 March 2023.
The Bishnoi Tiger Force submitted a memorandum to the commissioner of police and the divisional forest officer, demanding the arrest of all the people seen in the video and booking them under the Wild Life (Protection) Act.
The group also demanded the formation of flying squads for regular patrolling in the region.
The clip is said to be from a farm at Pannesingh Nagar in Luni.
Wildlife activist Om Prakash said many poachers set up their settlements on the Jodhpur-Barmer border and engaged in hunting chinkaras that they sold to groups such as these and even to hotels.
Luni MLA Maahendra Bishnoi said he had inquired about the incident.

An unfortunate incident occurred onboard an IndiGo flight on 7 February 2023.
A Jeddah-to-Delhi flight had to make an emergency landing in Jodhpur after a woman passenger fell ill, according to reports. The 61-year-old was then rushed to a hospital in Rajasthan city.
However, doctors at the Goyal Hospital and Research Centre declared her brought dead, as per an India Today report.
The deceased, identified as Mitra Bano of Jammu and Kashmir's Hazaribagh, was accompanied by her son on the flight.

District Collector Himanshu Gupta said 54 people were injured in the blast and five of them died.

Five people were killed and 49 injured after a cooking gas cylinder exploded in a house in Rajasthan's Jodhpur where guests had gathered for a wedding, police said on Friday.
A portion of the house in Shergarh sub-division's Bhungra village also collapsed due to the impact of the blast that occurred on Thursday afternoon, they said.
Some of the injured sustained 80 to 100 per cent burns, according to officials.
Guests had gathered at the house of bridegroom Surendra Singh and food was being prepared for them. A cooking gas cylinder kept in the store room of the house caught fire following a leak and exploded, said Jodhpur (Rural) Superintendent of Police (SP) Anil Kayal.
Other guests and villagers rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
Two children, Ratan Singh (5) and Khushboo (4), died on the spot. All the injured were rushed to the MG Hospital, Kayal said.
District Collector Himanshu Gupta said 54 people were injured in the blast and five of them died.
Superintendent of MG Hospital Raj Shree Behra said over a dozen injured brought to the hospital have sustained 80-100 per cent burns and are in serious condition.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed the induction as he asserted India's forward movement in the direction of 'Atmanirbharta.'
The LCH would be effective in hitting enemy infantry, tanks, bunkers, drones and other assets in high-altitude regions, military officials said.
"Subsequently, the IAF and HAL began exploring the possibility of developing the platform with a capacity to carry an adequate weapon load, sufficient fuel and still be capable of operating in the higher reaches of the Himalayan ranges," officials added

In Jodhpur, a traffic policeman was dragged on the bonnet of a car after the driver was cautioned for not wearing a seat belt.   The incident was captured on a closed-circuit television camera and the footage shows a white car driving away with a traffic official stuck precariously on its bonnet.  Reports said the traffic constable was dragged for a distance of 500 metres. The footage showed passers-by looked stunned by the sight of the traffic official being carried away on the bonnet of the car.

Unease prevails in Bhilwara's Sanganer after 2 men were attacked by unidentified individuals on Wednesday night. The men were having dinner when they were attacked, their bike was set on fire as well. While the cause of attack was not immediately identified, it has caused tension in the area.
After the incident, Internet services were suspended in Bhilwara and police was deployed owing to rising tension. Special Police Force personnel are also patrolling the streets. 
The injured were taken to a district hospital where they are being treated for their wounds. 
Calling for peace and harmony, the district collector of Bhilwara, Ashish Modi told ANI, 'We are investigating the matter. We are also checking the nearby CCTV footage. One person has received very minor injuries while the other suffered minor head injuries and is in a stable condition.'
This is the third incident in Rajasthan in a month that has caused tensions to soar and second in this week. In April, clashes ensued between different groups in Karauli, during a Ram Navami procession. The city of Jodhpur, too, saw tense conditions on Eid when groups clashed over the issue of a flag's hoisting, prompting the authorities to impose a curfew and suspend mobile internet services. Till now, police have arrested 141 people for disturbing peace and harmony.
Meanwhile, CM Ashok Gehlot on Thursday condemned the recent communal clashes in the state and said, “politics is going on in the name of case and religion." He accused the RSS and BJP of “planning to instigate riots" in Karauli and Jodhpur.

Communal tensions gripped Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's hometown Jodhpur hours before Eid on Tuesday, prompting the authorities to suspend mobile internet services and impose a curfew in 10 police stations areas of the city.
Rajasthan Minister of State for Home Rajendra Yadav said over 50 people have been arrested in connection with the incident so far.
Several others were also detained in the night.
The chief minister has appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony. He also accused the BJP's central leadership of trying to defame the state government.
The Jodhpur deputy commissioner of police issued orders imposing a curfew till May 4 midnight besides suspending mobile internet services. Tensions broke out past Monday midnight over putting up of Islamic flags on the Jalori gate circle, which led to stone pelting in which five policemen were injured.
The situation was brought under control in the early hours on Tuesday with heavy deployment of police but tensions escalated again in the morning after prayers at an Eidgah.
Shops, vehicles and houses were pelted with stones near the Jalori gate area.
Members of a minority community were installing Eid flags and they put up a flag on a roundabout alongside the statue of freedom fighter Balmukund Bissa.
This led to a confrontation as members of the other community alleged that a saffron flag, which they had put up there ahead of Parshuram Jayanti, had gone missing.
The issue snowballed into stone pelting and clashes, officials said.
Police rushed to the spot to control the situation during which five policemen were injured, the police control room said.
Police had to lob tear gas shells to disperse the mob.
Mobile internet services were suspended in the area to check the spread of rumours, the officials said.
Gehlot in a tweet urged people to maintain peace and called the incident unfortunate.
"While respecting the tradition of love and brotherhood of Jodhpur, Marwar, I make a touching appeal to all parties to maintain peace and cooperate in restoring law and order," he said.
The chief minister said leaders of all political parties should ask their workers to maintain peace and they all should remain united.
Gehlot also chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister's office to review the situation. He asked ministers Rajendra Yadav and Subhash Garg, and two officers to go to Jodhpur by helicopter.
The CM directed officials to take stern action against those responsible for it.
A criminal, irrespective of his religion, caste or class, must not be spared, the CM told officials.
Later, he told news channels that the it was the agenda of the BJP to defame him.
"It is their job to incite Hindu-Muslim riots. How long can you do politics in the name of polarization? This country belongs to all religions, all castes and PM Modi and central government also have to understand this,” he said.
On the other hand, the BJP targeted the state government over law and order.
Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat claimed that police are working under pressure.
Shekhawat threatened that he, along with other party leaders, will sit on a dharna at the Jalori gate circle if the rioters are not arrested.
"One man was stabbed and is struggling for life in hospital. The miscreants also insulted women and broke the leg of a minor girl. They also tried to damage a temple in the Sunaro Ka Baas area," he alleged.
BJP MLA Suryakanta Vyas in Jodhpur objected to the installation of an Eid flag alongside the freedom fighter's statue.
She had gone to the spot last night as soon as the incident occurred.
"They did (put up the flag) at (the statue of) Bissa ji and we have a strong objection to this. We will not forget this," Vyas said.
BJP state president Satish Poonia said, "Putting up an Islamic flag on the statue of freedom fighter Balmukund Bissa by anti-social elements and removing saffron flags put up on Parshuram Jayanti is condemnable." He appealed to people to maintain peace and demanded that the state government establish the "rule of law".
"A saffron flag was replaced with an Islamic flag at the statue of Bissaji last night and sabotage happened today. It is proven from the incident of Karauli that such incidents are happening under the patronage of the state government," Poonia said in a video statement.
He said such incidents against the majority community are alarming.
Former CM Vasundhara Raje and other BJP leaders also targeted the state government.
In the evening, ministers Rajendra Yadav and Subhash Garg along with the ACS (Home) and the ADG (Law and Order) visited the violence-hit area and a hospital.
Yadav told reporters at a press conference that more than 50 people have been arrested and efforts are being made to identify others.
He said three people are getting treatment at hospitals while 12-15 others were discharged after primary treatment.
Yadav said officials have been sent to the curfew-affected areas to ensure that people face no troubles.
"We will hold a meeting with officials to discuss every aspect of the incident. If any officer has not shared the correct information with the government, then the officer will be removed," he said.
Some of the local journalists who also received minor injuries in stone pelting and lathicharge also shared their plight.
Yadav said every aspect of the incident will be examined and no culprit will be spared. The ministers and senior officers will stay in Jodhpur for two day.

Amid tension in Jodhpur, violence was reported from another city in Rajasthan. On the occasion of Eid on May 3, clashes erupted in Nagaur.
Reports suggested that two Muslim groups were at loggerheads over some issue related to Eid celebrations. The differences deteriorated into violence, with stone pelting and vandalism allegedly taking place.
Videos purportedly of the clashes emerged on social media. The incident occurred in Nagaur's Kidwai Nagar.
Tension in Nagaur coincided with similar incidents in Jodhpur. However, members of two different communities were involved in the Jodhpur clashes.

The cause was placing of religious flags near the statue of freedom fighter Balmukund Bissa, as per news agency PTI. Curfew, suspension of mobile internet services, and heavy deployment of security personnel followed violence in Jodhpur.

The police lobbed tear gas shells to control the situation&nbsp;in the hometown of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who appealed to the people to maintain peace.&nbsp;The chief minister asked the people to uphold brotherhood and called the incident unfortunate.
The two sides clashed with each other over installing a religious flag, police said.&nbsp;
Four policemen were injured in the stone pelting. Heavy police force was deployed in the area to control the situation, according to news agency PTI

Hours before Eid, communal tension broke out in Jodhpur leading to stone pelting. Five policemen were injured in the incident that took place past midnight, officials said.
The situation was brought under control with heavy deployment of police, but the tension re-escalated after the Namaz of Eid on Tuesday morning when some people pelted stones near the Jalori Gate here. A few vehicles were damaged, they said.

Jodhpur is the hometown of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony.
Police rushed to the spot to control the situation during which five policemen were injured, police control room said.
The police had to lob tear gas shells to disperse the mob. Mobile internet services were suspended in the area to check the spread of rumours, the officials said.
Gehlot tweeted urging the people to maintain peace and called the incident unfortunate.
"While respecting the tradition of love and brotherhood of Jodhpur, Marwar, I make a touching appeal to all the parties to maintain peace and cooperate in restoring law and order," he said.
The chief minister said instructions had been issued to the administration to maintain peace and order.

One person died and eight others were injured when a speeding luxury car rammed into roadside makeshift huts in Rajasthan's Jodhpur on Tuesday morning.
The car also hit many two-wheelers on the AIIMS road.
According to police, all the injured were rushed to the nearby AIIMS hospital, where one succumbed to injuries and eight others are undergoing treatment.
The deceased was identified as Mukesh (30), three of the injured were inhabitants of the huts while four others were commuters, who were hit by the car.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who reached Jodhpur on Tuesday morning for a day's visit, rushed to the hospital straight from the airport and visited all the injured patients. He talked to them and gave directions to the AIIMS doctors and administration to provided best care for their recovery.
He announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for the deceased, Rs 1 lakh for the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 for those with minor injuries.
According to the ACP (West) Noor Mohammad, the speeding car was coming from Pal Road side towards AIIMS when it lost balance and rammed into roadside huts after hitting a few two-wheelers.
"The car was running at a high speed. The driver was identified as Amit Nagar, who surrendered himself to the police and has been detained," the officer said.

In a horrific incident, a speeding Audi hit people, bikes, scooters on a busy road in Rajasthan's Jodhpur on Tuesday, killing one person. The accident was captured on CCTV camera.
In the footage, the white Audi is seen hurtling down the busy road. The out of control car is seen ramming into a number of two wheelers. One of the bikers is thrown in the air by the force of the impact.
The car can be seen hitting a number of bikes before crashing into hutments on the side of the road.
The police said all the injured people were taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jodhpur, where one died of injuries. The man who died has been identified as 30-year-old Mukesh.
Police said that the Audi driver, identified as Amit Nagar, surrendered and has been detained.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who met the injured at the hospital, has announced ₹ 2 lakh relief for the family of Mukesh, and ₹ 1 lakh for those injured.
