British actor Helena Bonham Carter, who is best known for her work in the &lsquo;Harry Potter&rsquo; franchise, and Netflix&rsquo;s &lsquo;The Crown&rsquo;, opened up about her hatred of the ongoing cancel culture in a recent interview with The Sunday Times Magazine. She slammed people cancelling writer JK Rowling and actor Johnny Depp, who has been her co-star in several films like &lsquo;Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street&rsquo; and &lsquo;Alice in Wonderland&rsquo;.
She said the hate culture has become &lsquo;quite hysterical&rsquo; and &lsquo;there&rsquo;s a kind of witch hunt and a lack of understanding&rsquo;.
When asked if Johnny Depp could have a chance at a resurgence in Hollywood after allegations of domestic abuse, Helena said that he&rsquo;s completely vindicated and she thinks he&rsquo;s fine now.
The highly publicized Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation trial that took place earlier this year. Depp had sued the &lsquo;Aquaman&rsquo; actor after she referred to herself as a domestic violence survivor in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed.
Helena also supported author JK Rowling for her alleged transphobic comments and said that she has been &lsquo;hounded.&rsquo;
&lsquo;It&rsquo;s horrendous. I think she has been hounded. It&rsquo;s been taken to the extreme, the judgmentalism of people. She&rsquo;s allowed her opinion, particularly if she&rsquo;s suffered abuse.
Everybody carries their own history of trauma and forms their opinions from that trauma and you have to respect where people come from and their pain. You don&rsquo;t all have to agree on everything &mdash; that would be insane and boring. She&rsquo;s not meaning it aggressively, she&rsquo;s just saying something out of her own experience,&rsquo; Helena said.

The wizarding world of Harry Potter is a gift that keeps on giving and it all started 25 years ago when the &lsquo;Harry Potter and the Philosopher&rsquo;s Stone&rsquo;, the first book in the series, released.&nbsp;
Since then there have been Harry Potter plays, musicals, t-shirts, mufflers, jumpers, wands &ndash; the merchandising list is unending.&nbsp;
And now the Royal Mint, United Kingdom&rsquo;s official coin maker, has announced a special set of coins featuring &lsquo;the boy who lived&rsquo; to celebrate 25 years of the &lsquo;The Philosopher&rsquo;s Stone&rsquo;.&nbsp;
The first of the coins with a portrait of Harry Potter has already been released.&nbsp;
There will be 4 coins of 50 pence, one featuring Harry Potter and 3 more reportedly featuring Albus Dumbledore, Hogwarts school and the Hogwarts Express.&nbsp;
The Royal Mint on its website stated, "Beginning with the boy wizard himself, our spellbinding collection celebrating the magical world of the Harry Potter stories marks the first time Harry Potter has appeared on UK coins."
The website also says that &lsquo;a special design feature showing a lightning bolt and the number &lsquo;25&rsquo; will appear on selected editions of the coin when it is moved&rsquo;
The four-coin collection will feature coinage portraits of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Majesty The King.
The Royal Mint expects to release another coin in 2022 and the remaining two in 2023.&nbsp;

JK Rowling, the author of the famed Harry Potter series, received 'death threats' on Twitter following her tweet on the attack on Salman Rushdie in New York.

According to the screenshots shared by Rowling, the Twitter handle which issued the 'death threat' had also praised Rushdie's attacker.

She took to the microblogging platform to share screenshots of the 'threatening' tweets from a user.
In response to a tweet wherein 57-year-old Rowling was expressing her distress over the news of Rushdie's attack calling it &ldquo;horrifying news&rdquo; a user commented, &ldquo;Don't worry you are next&rdquo;.
The writer shared the screenshots of the replies from the user, and tagged Twitter Support's account seeking support. She wrote, &ldquo;any chance of some support."
According to the screenshots, the Twitter handle which issued the 'death threat' had also praised Rushdie's attacker.
The tweet read, &ldquo;The name of this man is hadi matar. He is a revolutionary Shia fighter followed the fatwa of late ayatollah rohullah khomenei&rdquo;.

After receiving support online, Rowling thanked her supporters in the same thread and informed that the police were investigating the issue.
&ldquo;To all sending supportive messages: thank you. Police are involved (were already involved on other threats),&rdquo; she wrote.
Rowling later shared a screenshot of Twitter's feedback after she reported the user, which stated that there were &ldquo;no violations of the Twitter rules&rdquo; in the comment.
The British author has of late been mired in controversies over her stand on transgenders that has left the LGBTQ+ community upset.
Salman Rushdie, the author of the controversial book 'The Satanic Verses', suffered life threatening injuries after he was stabbed by Hadi Matar, who apparently sympathised with Shia extremism and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
