Sooraj Pancholi has been acquitted in the suicide case of actor Jiah Khan by the special CBI court due to lack of evidence. The actor released a statement after being given a clean chit by the court and mentioned the last 10 years have been &lsquo;painful&rsquo; for him and his family.
The statement issued by Sooraj read, &lsquo;The verdict has taken 10 long painful years and sleepless nights, But today I have not only won this case against me but I have also won my dignity and confidence back, it took a lot of courage to face the world with such heinous allegations.&rsquo;
He further said, &lsquo;I hope and pray to God that nobody goes through what I have gone through at such a young age, I don&rsquo;t know who will give me these 10 years of my life back to me, but I am glad that this has finally come to an end not only for me but especially for my family. There is nothing bigger than peace in this world.&rsquo;
After the verdict was announced, Sooraj reached home and distributed sweets to the media present there.&nbsp;
Earlier, Sooraj had shared a note on Instagram which read, &lsquo;The Truth always wins! #GodIsGreat.&rsquo;
Jiah Khan, who died by suicide in June 2013, had allegedly left a six-page suicide note where she mentioned that Sooraj cheated on and even raped her following which she had to undergo an abortion.

Special CBI Court in Mumbai has given its final verdict in the Jiah Khan suicide case after 10 years. After actor Aditya Pancholi&rsquo;s son got a clean chit in the case, Jiah&rsquo;s mother Rabia Khan&rsquo;s lawyer said, that they will appeal in a higher court after studying the judgment.

Jiah Khan&rsquo;s suicide case has been one of the biggest cases in the film industry, as it has been linked to her then-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi, son of Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.
Jiah Khan was seen in Bollywood movies such as &lsquo;Nishabd&rsquo;, &lsquo;Ghajini&rsquo;, and &lsquo;Houseful&rsquo;, sharing the screen with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Akshay Kumar, which is why the news of her death sent shockwaves across the nation.
Jiah Khan was found hanging inside her Mumbai apartment in Juhu in June 2013. Soon after her death, Jiah&rsquo;s mother Rabia alleged that her daughter was in a relationship with Sooraj, and he had been verbally and physically abusing her during their relationship, driving her to take the drastic step.
Two years after Jiah&rsquo;s death, on June 7, 2015, the actor&rsquo;s sister recovered a six-page suicide note from her residence, where Jiah had allegedly blamed her boyfriend Sooraj for her death. Pancholi was arrested on June 11 on the charges of abetment to suicide. He walked out of jail on July 1 after being granted bail.
After Jiah&rsquo;s mother moved to the Bombay High Court, the case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The case was later transferred to a Special CBI court in 2021.
On April 28, 2023, Sooraj Pancholi was given a clean chit in the case due to lack of evidence. Special CBI Court in Mumbai has given its final verdict in the Jiah Khan suicide case after 10 years. Actor Sooraj Pancholi, who was accused of abetment to suicide, has been acquitted in the case. According to Times of India, the court gave him the clean chit, citing a lack of evidence. Court also informed Jiah's mother Rabia Khan of her right to appeal against the order.
In 2015, a letter allegedly written by Jiah was found that described her relationship with Sooraj Pancholi. Jiah's mother had accused him and his family of &lsquo;abusing&rsquo; her daughter. &nbsp;
