'Ready for any probe', says Sasikala after report on Jayalalitha's death raises question on her role

The expelled AIADMK leader Sasikala has said that she is ready to face all enquiries against her over the death of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa.&nbsp;
Sasikala&rsquo;s comments come a day after a report by Arumughaswamy Commission, constituted to probe the death of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha called for an investigation against Sasikala, among three others.
In its concluding remarks, the inquiry report said that Sasikala "have to be found fault with and investigation is to be ordered."
Refuting allegations the expelled AIADMK leader said "I deny all the allegations levelled against me in the report".
In a statement, Sasikala said, "I am not taking this blame as a big thing. This is not new to me. There are a lot of ways to make me politically weak. But it pains me as they made our Amma (Jayalalitha) death a controversial one. Jayalalitha and I were not siblings but sisters. It was an example of good friendship. We lived our lives like that only." "Now they have made Arumughaswamy Commission report as politics.&nbsp;
No matter how many times they probe me but the truth will not change. There is no suspicion of our Amma (Jayalalitha) death. I never interfered in the medical treatment of Jayalalitha. I have not studied medicine. Apollo hospital is not a hospital where they need my opinion to treat Jayalalitha. I deny all the allegations against me from the report. Regarding this, I am ready to face all inquiries on this.

The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday tabled in Assembly the reports of separate Commissions of Inquiry that looked into the circumstances surrounding the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and the 2018 police firing at Thoothukudi in the state.
The Justice A Arumughaswamy Commission of Inquiry that probed the circumstances leading to Jayalalithaa's death in 2016, in its concluding remarks said that V K Sasikala, the late Chief Minister's confidante, "have to be found fault with and investigation is to be ordered." The panel also has named others alongwith Sasikala.

Both EPS and OPS have been embroiled in a bitter war to claim the legacy of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa since her death in 2017.&nbsp;

The dual-leadership crisis plaguing AIADMK--the principal opposition party in Tamil Nadu--was resolved after Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) was on Monday elected as its interim general secretary and former deputy chief minister O Paneerselvam (OPS) was ousted from all party posts.
Other senior leaders and OPS supporters: JCD Prabhakar, R Vaithilingam, and PH Manoj Pandian were also expelled from the party.&nbsp;
The decision was taken during a general council meeting which took place after the Madras high court rejected OPS' plea seeking stay on the meet called by the faction led by EPS.
OPS, who was expelled for alleged "anti-party" activities and for cozying up to the rival DMK regime, reportedly said that he will move court against the decision.&nbsp;
The AIADMK General Council cited difficulty in decision-making and discontentment among party cadre as the reason behind scrapping the posts of Coordinator and Joint Coordinator, held by OPS and EPS, respectively.&nbsp;
Under the dual-leadership model, the AIADMK had faced several poll defeats. Both the leaders have been embroiled in a bitter war to claim the legacy of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa since her death in 2017.&nbsp;

Earlier in the day, supporters of both factions clashed outside the party headquarters in Chennai.&nbsp;
Other decisions taken during the party meeting include a resolution to hold organisational polls in four months to elect a General Secretary, &nbsp;several by-laws were also amended, including fresh norms to fight for the top party position.&nbsp;
