Actor Swara Bhasker, sharing a video clip on Twitter had said, "Who are the idiots who are clapping is what I want to know." Filmmaker Onir also asked, "Will we now start celebrating a new Independence Day?"
Kangana's new production venture Tiku Weds Sheru recently started filming. Directed by Sai Kabir, it features actor&nbsp;Nawazuddin Siddiqui&nbsp;and Avneet Kaur. The film is her maiden digital venture and will be produced under Manikarnika Films.

A Thane court has issued a show-cause notice to Javed Akhtar after a RSS member complained against the poet-lyricist for &ldquo;drawing parallel&rdquo; between the organisation and Taliban during a TV interview.
Hinting at the RSS, Akhtar had said the organization wants a Hindu Rashtra just like Taliban wants an Islamic state.
The complainant alleged that Akhtar&rsquo;s remarks were &lsquo;well planned&rsquo; and aimed at defaming the RSS and &ldquo;discourage, disparage and misguide&rdquo; the people who have joined the organisation.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate&rsquo;s court in Thane issued show-cause notice to Akhtar asking him to respond before November 12.
According to the complaint, Akhtar claimed the goal of RSS is the same as that of the Taliban &lsquo;even after the highest democratically elected office bearers of the country like the, vice-president, prime minister and several cabinet ministers have been supporters and members of RSS&rsquo;.

Kangana's complaints were in response to a defamation suit by the veteran lyricist, who has alleged she dragged his name into a TV discussion last year on the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The two came face-to-face at the Mumbai court, where Kangana arrived accompanied by her enhanced CRPF security entourage.
During the hearing, Kangana's lawyer, Rizwan Siddique, accused Javed Akhtar of making threatening phone calls, in which he allegedly said "... you would commit suicide".
Kangana had been originally called to the court last week, but stayed away citing ill health, her lawyer had said he had "developed Covid-19 symptoms". Kangana's lawyer also said that the actor wants the judge in this case to be changed.
The court had warned Kangana that failing to appear would result in an arrest warrant against her. On Monday, the court marked her attendance and postponed the hearing till October 1.
Kangana has also filed an application to transfer the case; which will be heard on November 15.

Akhtar filed the complaint against Ranaut in November 2020, alleging that she made some defamatory and baseless comments against him in a television interview.

The Bombay High Court on Thursday dismissed a plea filed by actor Kangana Ranaut&nbsp;who had sought quashing of criminal defamation proceedings initiated by a Magistrate Court against her following a complaint by lyricist Javed Akhtar in 2020.

The Bombay High Court on Monday refused to hear an intervention application filed by lyricist Javed Akhtar, alleging that actor Kangana Ranaut&nbsp;misled the court to get her passport&nbsp;renewed.&nbsp;
According to a report, advocate Vrinda Grover, representing Akhtar, said the statement made by Ranaut of no pending criminal cases was false and misleading.
However, a bench of Justice S S Shinde and Justice N J Jamadar refused to intervene, maintaining that if the court allows one such intervention, they will be flooded with similar pleas.

Veteran poet, lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar took a jibe at television news channels for prioritising Bollywood&rsquo;s alleged drug links over the farmers&rsquo; protests in their coverage.
The lyricist sarcastically remarked that if Karan Johar had invited farmers to his party, &lsquo;life would have been easier&rsquo; for the channels, as they would not have to choose between Bollywood and the farmers&rsquo; protests.
