Two more soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were killed as the massive search operation to track down militants continued for the sixth day in the forest areas of Jammu and Kashmir's twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri on Saturday, officials said.

&ldquo;The presence of militants in the forest area connecting Poonch and Rajouri was observed two and a half months ago and accordingly tactical operations were launched to track them down,&rdquo; Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajouri-Poonch range, Vivek Gupta told reporters.
He said the area is mountainous and the forest is dense, which makes the operation difficult and dangerous.

Five drones were reportedly spotted on Thursday night in Jammu and Kashmir near vital army installations. Sources said that one drone was spotted in Samba district at around 8.15pm, following which multiple rounds were fired at it. Another drone was seen at around 8.05pm at Pansar in Kathua district.
Drones were also suspected to have been spotted at three other locations in Jammu &mdash; Amphala area, Kharian in Miran Sahib and Satwari, sources told News18.
This comes days after a drone blast at Jammu Air Force station, which injured two Indian Air Force personnel. The National Investigation Agency is currently investigating case. It has been suspected that the drones came from across the border.
Following the Jammu air base attack, the Centre had given the go-ahead to procure anti-drone technology. Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Industry Security Force (CISF) have been tasked with procuring the anti-drone systems.

An FIR by the Jammu Police, on the attack on the Jammu Air Base, reportedly shows that IAF personnel believe the target were the parked choppers. An exclusive report by CNN-News18, quoting the FIR, the complaint given by Junior Warrant Officer Darshan Singh to Jammu police, says, the act has been done in the highly secured area to challenge the security and damage the national aerial assets by some anti-national elements.
Elaborating the sequence of events leading up to the blast, the FIR says that at 1:37 am on June 27, a blast occurred inside the premises of Air Force station Satwari campus. After about six minutes, one more blast was conducted &ldquo;by the unknown drone as part of a well-planned conspiracy."
